Wild Cherry Top, Back & Sides
The Wild Cherry model is named for what's inside it: the top, back, and sides are all built from laminated wild cherry — a Canadian tonewood that Art & Lutherie has championed as an eco-friendly alternative to more common imported woods. Wild cherry sits tonally somewhere between the warmth of mahogany and the brightness of maple, giving this guitar a balanced, present voice that works well for strumming and lighter fingerpicking alike.
The three-layer laminated construction is built for durability — these guitars hold up well to changes in humidity and temperature, which matters if your instrument lives in a car, a rehearsal space, or anywhere that isn't climate-controlled. The satin black finish gives it a subtly worn, characterful look without being flashy about it.
A Neck That Stays Put
The silver leaf maple neck is another Canadian tonewood choice that Art & Lutherie favors for its stability and tonal characteristics similar to mahogany. It's paired with a rosewood fingerboard and bridges, and the TUSQ nut and saddle (by Graphtech) are a nice upgrade from the plastic hardware you'd expect at this price point — TUSQ is known for consistent string transfer and self-lubricating properties that help tuning stability.
The 24.84" scale length falls right between a Gibson-style short scale and a standard Fender-style long scale, keeping string tension comfortable without going too loose.
