It listens to the chords you're playing and automatically builds the right harmonies around your voice — no music theory required, no complicated menu-diving, just plug in and sing.
The VE-2 gives you three ways to work: plug in your guitar and let the Auto Harmony function detect your chords in real time, set the key manually with a dedicated panel knob if you're singing without guitar, or use Hybrid mode to combine both approaches for songs where your guitar part transitions between rhythm and lead. Any way you approach it, the harmonies track what you're actually playing.

Harmonies That Follow Your Guitar
The heart of the VE-2 is its Auto Harmony function. When you connect your guitar to the rear input, the pedal detects the chords and key you're playing and automatically generates the correct harmony as you sing — even through mid-song key changes. If you don't play guitar, the guitarist in your band can plug in instead, or you can simply set the key manually with the KEY knob.
With 12 harmony types available — each offering one or two added voices at various intervals above and/or below your own — plus a Variation setting on each type that adds more voices for fuller sounds, you have 24 total harmony options to choose from. The BALANCE knob lets you dial in exactly how prominent the harmony voices sit against your lead vocal.
Reverb, Delay, and Vocal Polish
Beyond harmony, the VE-2 keeps your vocal chain simple and effective. A single ECHO knob sweeps through reverb only, reverb plus delay, and delay only — with intensity increasing as you turn. It's one control that covers a lot of ground without needing to stop and think mid-set.
The Enhance button does double duty: one press applies dynamics processing that smooths and tightens your vocal sound; a second press layers in subtle automatic pitch correction. That pitch correction also helps stabilize the harmony voices, which is especially useful in loud environments where monitoring is tricky.
Built to Go Where You Go
The VE-2 runs on four AA batteries, and phantom power for condenser microphones remains available even on battery operation — so you can use a studio-quality condenser mic anywhere you perform. The XLR mic input and XLR output keep your signal balanced and pro-grade from start to finish.
USB connectivity lets the VE-2 double as a basic audio interface, so you can record your processed vocal — harmonies, effects, and all — directly into any DAW or recording software. The Loopback function lets you mix computer audio playback with your mic input, making it easy to rehearse or record over backing tracks. Three onboard memory slots let you store and recall your favorite harmony and effects combinations, and an optional Boss FS-series footswitch can be connected for hands-free preset recall during performance.
