The Standard series sits a step above the entry-level Affinity, and one of the most noticeable upgrades is the pickup set. Three Alnico single-coil pickups replace the ceramic magnets found in lower-tier models — which means a brighter, more articulate response with that characteristic Strat sparkle. An Agathis Body That Plays Honest
The body is solid agathis — a dense Southeast Asian hardwood that Squier used extensively in this era of Indonesian production. It's not alder or ash, and we won't pretend otherwise, but it holds up well in a solid-body application and gives this guitar a bit of extra weight and sustain. The polyurethane finish over the agathis carries that Capri Orange color well, and the contoured Stratocaster shape means it sits comfortably whether you're seated or standing.
Fast Neck, Familiar Feel
The maple neck has a slim, fast-action "C" profile that makes it easy to move around on. The rosewood fingerboard is smooth and comfortable, with pearloid dot inlays and a 9.5" radius — which sits right in the sweet spot between a vintage-style round and a modern flat board. The 22 medium-jumbo frets (one more than earlier Standard models) give you a bit of extra reach up top without changing the feel of the lower positions.
Scale length is the standard Fender 25.5", so string tension and feel are right in line with what most players expect from a Stratocaster. Nut width is 1.650" (42mm) — a comfortable, full-width feel that's friendlier for rhythm playing than narrower nuts found on some budget models.

The bridge is a 2-point fulcrum synchronized tremolo — an upgrade from the 6-screw vintage-style unit — offering smoother operation and better return-to-pitch after dive bombs. The multi-ply pickguard and white plastic parts complete the traditional aesthetic.
