A Guitar Built for Players Who Think Differently
Most electric guitars trace their DNA back to a handful of shapes and materials that haven't changed much in 70 years. The Godin Passion RG-3 takes a different road. Built by hand at Godin's Premier Atelier in Richmond, Quebec, it draws inspiration from acoustic guitar construction — using tonewoods more at home in the concert hall than the guitar store — and wraps all of that into a Strat-influenced body you can plug straight into your amp. It's a guitar for players who are curious about what an electric can sound like when you start from scratch.
The standout feature is the body itself: a lightweight, multi-chambered design with five tuned Synchronized Resonance Chambers. These chambers aren't just about reducing weight — they actively contribute to the guitar's acoustic resonance, giving the instrument a liveliness you can feel in your hands even before it's plugged in. The body is noticeably light for a solid-style electric, which makes long sets much easier on your shoulder.

This Godin Passion RG-3 is in Good condition. The guitar is fully functional and will go through a full tech set up prior to shipping. It has a Small Finish Crack In Neck Pocket, along with normal play wear. Please review the photos carefully for full condition.
The H.D.R. System: Two Guitars in One
The High-Definition Revoicer (H.D.R.) is what really sets the RG-3 apart electronically. With a single push of a button, it toggles the three Godin GS-3 single-coil pickups (featuring extra-large pole pieces for even string-to-string balance) between fully passive and active modes. You get five pure passive tones from the standard 5-way selector, plus five active tones with added bite and dynamic range — ten distinct voices from one guitar, all without touching a pickup selector or tone knob.
The GS-3 pickups are custom-voiced by Godin specifically for this series. Their oversized pole pieces help with intonation and output consistency across all six strings, which players who bend strings regularly will appreciate. In passive mode, they have the classic single-coil clarity and chime. Flip the HDR switch and the character shifts — tighter lows, more presence, a more assertive midrange.
Neck, Scale, and Hardware
The neck is Hard Rock Maple with an Ergocut profile — shaped for natural hand position and reduced fatigue during longer playing sessions. The 25.5" scale length matches Fender Stratocaster spec, so string tension and feel will be immediately familiar to Strat players. The 12" fingerboard radius is a comfortable middle ground: flat enough for fast single-note work and comfortable chord playing alike. Nut width comes in at 1 11/16", a standard spacing that suits most hand sizes.
Hardware is high-caliber throughout. Gotoh 18:1 high-ratio tuning machines provide smooth, precise tuning feel with exceptional stability. The tremolo bridge uses stainless steel saddles for durability and reliable intonation. Smoked binding and hardwood back plates complete the aesthetic with a refined, understated look.
