A Serious Shredder From Montreal
The Godin Redline 2 is not a guitar that tries to blend in. It's a purpose-built, metal-and-hard-rock machine from one of North America's most respected guitar makers, and it comes loaded with everything you'd want for high-gain playing — without any unnecessary fuss. If your amp is set dirty and your pedals are always on, this is the kind of guitar that was made with you in mind.
This Godin Redline 2 is in Very Good condition. The guitar is fully functional and will go through a full tech set up prior to shipping. It is in Very Good Condition with a Dent On The Bottom and Fine Finish Scratches. Please review the photos carefully for full condition.
The combination of a silver leaf maple body center with poplar wings and a string-through fixed bridge gives the Redline 2 a focused, sustain-rich character. Throw in a pair of active EMG humbuckers, and you've got a platform that stays tight and clear even when you're pushing a lot of gain. This is a used example in Black high gloss — a no-nonsense finish that keeps the focus where it belongs: on how the guitar plays.
Built for Speed: The Neck and Fretboard
The Redline 2 features a rock maple neck with a soft "V" profile — slightly vintage in feel, but comfortable in a wide range of playing situations. Godin's Ergocut treatment bevels the edges of the fingerboard and frets back toward the center, which reduces that sharp-edge feeling you sometimes get on cheaper instruments. The result is a neck that feels finished and refined, even during long practice sessions.
The rosewood fingerboard runs 24 super jumbo frets with a 16" radius — a relatively flat fingerboard that makes string bending more comfortable and helps keep notes from choking out when you're pushing hard. Scale length is 24-3/4", which falls right in line with Gibson-style feel: a slightly looser string tension that players often find easier on the fingers for bending and vibrato. Nut width is 1-11/16".
Active Pickups That Mean Business
The Redline 2 comes loaded with two active EMG humbuckers: an EMG-85 in the neck position and an EMG-81 at the bridge. The EMG-81 is one of the most widely used active bridge pickups in hard rock and metal — it's tight, articulate, and handles high-gain amplifiers without getting muddy. The EMG-85 in the neck adds a warmer, fuller voice for lead playing and cleaner tones.
Controls are straightforward: a 3-way pickup selector switch, one volume knob, and one tone knob. The black hardware throughout — including the fixed, string-through bridge — keeps things cohesive. The string-through design anchors the strings firmly through the body, which contributes to sustain and tuning stability.
