A Little Smaller, Just as Musical
Not every player wants to wrestle a full-size classical — and that's where the Cordoba Protégé Estudio earns its place. Built on a 7/8-size classical body, it gives you the familiar nylon-string experience in a slightly more compact package that's easier on smaller hands, shorter arms, or anyone who simply prefers a guitar that doesn't feel like it's playing you.
The Estudio is all mahogany — top, back, and sides — which gives it a warm, focused midrange voice well-suited to fingerpicking and classical technique. Traditional fan bracing underneath the top keeps things balanced and responsive. The matte polyurethane finish feels natural against your forearm and looks understated in a way that lets the wood do the talking.
Whether you're a student getting started on nylon strings, a player who travels and needs something a bit easier to tote, or someone who just fits better on a smaller instrument, the Estudio is a practical choice that doesn't make you sacrifice playability to get there.
This Cordoba Protégé Estudio 7/8 is in very good condition. The guitar is fully functional and will go through a full tech set up prior to shipping. It has a small white scuff on bottom and minor play wear. Please review the photos carefully for full condition.
A Classical Body Built for Comfort
The 7/8-size classical body keeps the traditional classical guitar silhouette intact — the wide, flat neck, the elevated fingerboard angle, the slotted headstock — while trimming the overall dimensions down to a more manageable scale. The 52mm nut width is standard for classical guitars, giving you the string spacing that classical technique requires.
Scale length runs approximately 628–650mm depending on the production run — shorter than the full 650mm of a traditional classical, which reduces string tension slightly and makes fretting a bit easier without dramatically changing the feel. The C-shape mahogany neck is comfortable across a wide range of hand sizes.
All-Mahogany Construction
The Estudio uses mahogany throughout — top, back, sides, and neck — which is a departure from the spruce-over-mahogany formula you see on most entry-level classical guitars. Mahogany-topped instruments tend to have a slightly darker, warmer tone than spruce, with a pronounced midrange and a bit less high-end sparkle. For classical fingerpicking, that warmth can actually work in your favor on melodic lines.
The layered construction on the top, back, and sides prioritizes durability and stability across humidity and temperature swings — a practical choice for a student instrument that might see a variety of environments. Fan bracing is the traditional choice for classical guitar tops, allowing the soundboard to flex freely and respond to the softer attack of nylon strings.
Practical Details, Ready to Play
The composite fingerboard and bridge hold up well to daily use and don't require the humidity management that rosewood boards can demand. Tuning machines are Cordoba gold with pearl buttons — smooth and functional. The all-wood rosette and black ABS binding keep the look clean and traditional without being flashy. A dual-action truss rod is included — useful on a classical guitar, which traditionally doesn't have one, and gives you some neck-angle adjustment latitude down the road.
The satin matte polyurethane finish keeps things feeling natural and raw rather than plasticky. It's a small detail, but one you'll notice the first time you pick it up.
