Old-World Elegance, Modern Semi-Hollow Versatility
There's something about a well-made semi-hollowbody that just feels right the moment you strap it on. The D'Angelico Premier DC has that quality in spades — a 16"-wide double-cutaway body that's comfortable to hold, beautiful to look at, and capable of a genuinely wide tonal range. In the Dark Iced Tea Burst finish, it carries that warm amber-to-brown gradient that nods to vintage archtops without feeling like a costume piece.
This is a used Premier DC from our inventory, coming with its case. It's the kind of guitar that bridges the gap between the jazz-leaning semi-hollow world and the more aggressive demands of rock and blues — with two Supro Bolt Bucker humbuckers doing the heavy lifting on tone.
This D'Angelico Premier DC is in Very Good condition. The guitar is fully functional and will go through a full tech set up prior to shipping. It has a condition very good: fine play wear and small binding imperfection noted on guitar at right horn.. Please review the photos carefully for full condition.
A Body Built for Tone and Comfort
The Premier DC's body is built from laminated maple — all the way through top, back, and sides — in a 16"-wide double-cutaway profile with a lightweight center block inside. That center block is what separates a semi-hollow from a fully hollow archtop: it adds sustain, controls resonance, and keeps feedback from becoming a problem at stage volume. The body is 1.75" deep, which keeps the overall feel manageable without losing that characteristic semi-hollow openness.
The gloss finish over the Dark Iced Tea Burst is clean and refined. Multi-ply body binding, a 5-ply Scalini pickguard, mother-of-pearl block fingerboard inlays, and the signature D'Angelico cupola headpin give the guitar an Art Deco character that stands out from the crowd without being loud about it.
Neck, Fretboard, and Playability
The maple neck runs a slim C-shape profile with a set neck joint — a construction choice that promotes good resonance and sustain transfer between neck and body. Scale length is 24.75", which sits in familiar Gibson territory and makes chord work and bending feel natural for players coming from that world. The nut width is 1 11/16" with a Graph Tech NuBone XL nut, and the fretboard radius is a relatively flat 14" — comfortable for single-note runs and bending without too much fretting-out.
The pau ferro fingerboard is topped with 22 medium vintage frets and white pearloid block inlays. Pau ferro has a feel and response somewhere between rosewood and maple — smooth under the fingers and with a touch more brightness than traditional rosewood. An aluminum Skyscraper truss rod cover and mother-of-pearl D'Angelico New York logo on the headstock add those signature details that show up across the Premier Series.
Pickups, Controls, and Hardware
The Premier DC DAPDCDITBNS comes loaded with Supro Bolt Bucker A5 humbuckers — one at the neck, one at the bridge — both with nickel covers and Alnico V magnets. These pickups are voiced specifically for the DC's semi-hollow character, delivering that sweet, focused mid-range with vivid high-end clarity. The control layout is straightforward and player-friendly: two volume knobs, two tone knobs, and a 3-way toggle switch, all capped with four ebony knobs.
Hardware is nickel throughout. Grover 109 Super Rotomatic Stairstep tuners handle tuning stability at the top of the headstock, and a Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece anchors the strings at the body. It's a proven, reliable setup that's easy to intonate and maintain.
