Nuno's Entry Point — With the DNA to Back It Up
If you've ever watched Nuno Bettencourt play and thought, "I want a piece of that," the N1 is exactly where Washburn drew the line between accessible and serious. It's the entry point of the N-Series — the same family that gave Nuno his voice on some of rock's most recognizable records — built around an alder body, a bolt-on maple neck with a reverse headstock, and a pair of Washburn humbuckers wired with the same stripped-down elegance as the guitars above it in the line: one volume knob, one 3-way toggle, done.
This one is a used example in Very Good condition. It's been played, it has character, and it's been confirmed fully functional by our staff. A full tech setup will be completed before it ships to you.

Solid Body, Simple Controls, Real Feel
The N1's alder body keeps the guitar light and lively under your arm — alder is a reliable, tonally balanced wood that sits comfortably in the mix without demanding eq attention. The bolt-on maple neck feels fast and responsive, finished naturally so it doesn't drag on your palm the way a thick gloss finish can. The reverse headstock is a Nuno hallmark across the entire N-Series: it's not just a visual flourish — the longer bass-side string length adds tension and definition to the low strings.
The 22-fret rosewood fingerboard is fitted with jumbo frets, which makes bending easy and gives you a little extra grip on each note. Scale length runs 25.5", which keeps string tension comfortable and familiar if you're coming from any standard Strat-style instrument. Nut width is 1-5/8" (42mm) — plenty of room for clean chord voicings without feeling wide.
Pickups and Hardware That Get Out of the Way
The N1 runs two Washburn open-coil humbuckers — neck and bridge — wired to a 3-way toggle and a single master volume. That's it. No tone knobs, no coil-tap switches, no second-guessing. The bridge humbucker delivers a hotter, brighter output; the neck position opens up and warms considerably. The simplicity of the control layout is a feature, not a limitation — it's the same philosophy you'll find on Nuno's higher-end N4.
Hardware is all chrome: a fulcrum tremolo bridge with individual saddles for easy intonation adjustments, die-cast tuners for solid tracking, and a Graph Tech NuBone nut. The tremolo is a standard fulcrum design — not a locking system — so string changes and setup are refreshingly straightforward.
