Three Guitars in One Body
There's a certain kind of guitarist who's never quite satisfied with just one sound — and Godin built the LGX-SA specifically for that person. This single-cut solidbody does something genuinely unusual: it gives you a full electric guitar, an acoustic-style voice via piezo transducer saddles, and a 13-pin synth output for connecting to Roland GR-series synths and similar gear, all from one instrument. That's not a gimmick — it's a genuinely practical solution for players who want tonal flexibility without hauling multiple guitars.
The finish on this one is the Trans Blue Flame AAA — a transparent blue that lets the figured maple top do the talking. The grain pops through the high-gloss finish, and the single-cutaway silhouette gives it a clean, classic look that wears the figured top well.
This is a used example with normal playing wear and a small ding or scuff near the electronics cavity. It comes with a hardshell case.

A Mahogany Foundation with Figured Maple Top
The body is mahogany capped with a AA-grade figured flame maple top — a combination that balances mahogany's warmth and sustain against maple's snap and clarity. The carved top is finished in high-gloss transparent blue, allowing the natural figure to show through. Chrome hardware completes the look.
The neck is also mahogany, topped with a Richlite fingerboard. Richlite is a composite material that Godin favors for its consistency, smooth feel, and particularly its synth tracking characteristics — it responds cleanly under the transducer system. Scale length is 25.5", nut width is 1 11/16", and the fingerboard radius is 16". That's a fairly flat radius that players used to faster, lower-action setups will appreciate.
Electric, Acoustic, and Synth — All at Once
The magnetic side of the equation features two Seymour Duncan custom humbuckers — a Jazz SH-2n at the neck and a Custom Custom SH-11 at the bridge. A 5-way selector switch gives you the standard pickup positions plus split-coil options for single-coil-style tones. Controls include a guitar volume, tone, and a dedicated synth volume knob.
The RMC transducer saddles in the bridge handle both the acoustic voice and the synth signal. Each saddle sends an individual, per-string signal — known as hexaphonic output — to the 13-pin connector, which interfaces directly with Roland GR-series synths and other compatible gear. The acoustic output has its own dedicated preamp with four-band EQ (volume, treble, mid, bass). You can run the electric, acoustic, and synth outputs separately or blend them in various combinations — the LGX-SA was designed around this flexibility from the ground up.
What Sets the LGX-SA Apart from the LGXT
Godin made two main versions of this multi-voice platform: the LGX-SA (this one) and the LGXT. The key difference is the bridge — the LGX-SA uses a fixed, strings-through-body setup with RMC transducer saddles, while the LGXT adds a tremolo. If you want your tuning to stay rock solid across all three voice outputs, the fixed bridge of the LGX-SA is the more stable choice. The mahogany body also gives it a slightly warmer character compared to the maple-bodied LGXT.
The "SA" in the name stands for Synth Access — that 13-pin output that connects directly to Roland GR synths without needing an external hex pickup unit like the GK-3. For players who want to integrate synth sounds into their rig cleanly, that's a meaningful convenience.
