A Gretsch Jet That Goes Lower
There's a specific kind of player who hears a baritone guitar and immediately knows — that's the sound they've been missing. If that's you, the Gretsch G5260 Electromatic Jet Baritone in Bristol Fog is worth a serious look. It's a full-on Jet, just tuned B-to-B with a 29.75" scale length that gives you the room to go low without flabby, loose strings. It's the Gretsch you know, shifted down a register.
This is a used G5260 in Excellent condition. The guitar is fully functional and will go through a full tech set up prior to shipping. It has a fine play scratches. Please review the photos carefully for full condition.
The Bristol Fog finish gives this one a cool, understated look — muted and contemporary against the classic Jet body silhouette, black plexi pickguard, and white binding with purfling. It's a guitar that earns a second look without screaming for one. Whether you're after thick cinematic textures, heavy dropped tunings, or just that uniquely wide baritone voice that sits between guitar and bass in the mix, the G5260 covers it well.
Built Like a Jet, Tuned Like a Baritone
The body is solid mahogany — the same fundamental recipe behind the original Jet. It gives the guitar weight and warmth that works particularly well in the lower register, rounding out lows without losing definition. The body shape is the classic Jet, and the gloss finish on both the body and neck keeps the aesthetic in line with Gretsch's longstanding style.
The bolt-on maple neck carries a Thin "U" profile — comfortable and quick, well-suited to the kind of riffing and chord work that baritone players tend to gravitate toward. The 12"-radius laurel fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets gives you plenty of range without a steep learning curve. The 1.685" synthetic bone nut and 29.75" scale length handle low tunings cleanly, maintaining string tension so your attack stays tight and articulate even down at B.
Mini Humbuckers, Big Range
The G5260 runs a pair of Gretsch mini humbucking pickups — one at the neck, one at the bridge. Mini humbuckers have a character all their own: they're tighter and more defined than full-size humbuckers, with some of the single-coil clarity without the hum. In a baritone context, that definition matters a lot. The low end stays articulate rather than turning to mud, and the highs retain a kind of piano-like clarity that keeps individual notes audible in dense arrangements.
A three-position toggle switch gives you neck, bridge, or both pickups, while master volume and master tone controls keep things simple. The anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge pairs with the Gretsch V-Stoptail to keep intonation dialed in and sustain solid. Chrome hardware completes the picture.
