One Pickup. One Knob. One Point of View.
Most Strats come loaded with options — five pickup positions, two tone knobs, endless combinations to explore. The Fender FSR Straight Six throws all of that out the window. One Atomic humbucking pickup, one master volume, and a satin black matte lacquer body. That's the whole equation. It's a deliberate, stripped-down take on the Stratocaster that says exactly what it means to say.
This was a Factory Special Run (FSR) model made in Mexico, produced only for a limited window with just around 830 units made in total. The result is a Strat that's genuinely uncommon — not because it's been artificially scarce, but because Fender built a specific guitar for a specific player and moved on. If you've ever wanted a no-frills, single-humbucker Strat with real Fender bones, this is a hard one to walk past.
This particular example is used and shows honest road wear — a player's guitar that has clearly seen some stage time. It's priced and graded accordingly.
This Fender FSR Straight Six Stratocaster is in Fair condition. The guitar is fully functional and will go through a full tech set up prior to shipping. It has multiple scratches, play wear, and dings. Please review the photos carefully for full condition.
A Body Built Around the Basics
The Straight Six starts with a solid alder body in the classic Stratocaster double-cutaway contour — deep belly cut and all — finished in a satin matte black lacquer that absorbs light rather than reflecting it. It's a look that feels more workmanlike than flashy, and that's entirely intentional. The satin lacquer finish gives the body a slightly raw, tactile feel compared to the slick poly coats on standard MIM Strats.
Hardware is all chrome: a vintage-style six-saddle synchronized tremolo bridge for expression and intonation adjustments, plus Fender Standard Cast tuning machines on the headstock. The 3-ply parchment/black/parchment pickguard adds a small bit of visual contrast against the black body.
Maple Neck, One Pickup, No Distractions
The bolt-on maple neck carries a maple fingerboard with a 9.5" radius and 21 medium jumbo frets — familiar Strat geometry that plays comfortably whether you're a pick-and-strum player or someone who likes to dig into lead work. Scale length is the standard Fender 25.5", and the nut comes in at 1.650" wide. The neck and fingerboard are finished in the same satin lacquer as the body, giving the whole instrument a consistent, matte feel from headstock to strap button.
The single pickup is Fender's Atomic humbucker — an uncovered bridge humbucker wired directly to a master volume control with no tone knob in the circuit. No switching, no coil taps, no selector positions to second-guess. You set your amp, you set your volume, and you play.
