A Neck That Gets Out of Your Way
The Deluxe Bedford's neck is one of its most appreciated features. The three-piece maple and walnut construction gives it a rigid, stable feel, and the satin finish means your hand glides freely up and down the neck without any stickiness. The comfortable C profile suits a wide range of hand sizes and playing styles — it's not too chunky, not too thin.
At 24.75 inches, the scale length sits in familiar Gibson territory, so bends feel a little easier and the overall tension is slightly more relaxed than a Fender-style 25.5" instrument. The 14-inch fingerboard radius strikes a good balance between chord comfort and lead work, and 22 medium frets give you plenty of range across the neck. The sculpted heel means the upper frets stay accessible, too.
Seymour Duncan Pickups, Built for Versatility
D'Angelico equipped the Deluxe Bedford with USA-made Seymour Duncan pickups — a combination that has proven itself across multiple generations of the model. Whether this specific LE unit runs dual Stacked P-90s or a humbucker-and-single-coil pairing, you're getting pickups that are genuinely capable across a wide tonal range. Players have used the Bedford to cover jazz, blues, indie, and rock without ever feeling like the guitar was holding them back.
A GraphTech TUSQ nut at the headstock keeps string binding in check and contributes to consistent sustain and intonation. Grover locking tuners handle stability duties, and once the guitar is in tune, it stays there. The F-hole-shaped pickguard and stairstep tuner buttons give the whole package a distinctive D'Angelico Art Deco look that's hard to miss on stage.
Art Deco Details on a Modern Offset
