The Kindred 00R-28V is part of the Vintage Series — Kindred being the US market name for the modern Sigma guitar line (distributed domestically under the Kindred name due to a trademark situation with the Sigma name stateside). In other words, this is the same guitar sold globally as the Sigma 000R-28V, built to the same specs in the same factories. It is in Very Good Condition with 2 small scratches noted on the back of neck and fine finish scratches noted in poly. Please review the photos carefully, as they provide the best representation of the instrument's overall condition.
The 00-size body is genuinely compact — easier to manage than a dreadnought, sits naturally in your lap, and responds quickly to a light touch. The Vintage Series aesthetic leans into the pre-war Martin design tradition: herringbone binding, open-gear Grover tuners, and a natural gloss finish with aging toner that gives it a warm, lived-in look right out of the gate. Solid Sitka Spruce Top and Rosewood Construction
The top on the 00R-28V is solid Sitka spruce — not a laminate, not a veneer. The spruce pairs with Indian rosewood back and sides to deliver a tone profile that leans toward clear mids and defined highs with a warmth on the low end.
The mahogany neck is fitted with an Indian rosewood fingerboard, and the nut and saddle are bone — a material that transmits string vibration cleanly and contributes to a more balanced, resonant tone compared to synthetic alternatives. Grover open-gear tuners keep tuning stable and add to the vintage character of the instrument.
25.4" Scale and Vintage-Feel Neck
The 00R-28V runs a full 25.4" scale length — longer than you might expect on a compact body. That extra length contributes to a slightly tighter, crisper string response and can make for a very musical fingerpicking experience. The V-profile neck shape is part of the Vintage Series identity, giving you a chunkier feel underhand that many players find comfortable for wrapping the thumb over the bass side.
At 1-11/16" at the nut (based on the 14-fret version specs; the 12-fret VS variant has a slightly wider 1-3/4" nut), string spacing is comfortable for both fingerstyle and flatpicking. The rosewood fingerboard has a slightly flat radius that suits vintage-style playing well.
