This EVH 5150 Series Standard is in Very Good condition. The guitar is fully functional and will go through a full tech set up prior to shipping. Basswood Body Built for That Classic Super-Strat Feel
The 5150 Standard is built around a modified Strat-style basswood body with a deeper upper body curve — a nod to the early super-Strat body styles that Eddie helped popularize. Basswood is a lightweight wood that tends to have a balanced, mid-forward character, which pairs naturally with hot humbuckers and high-gain playing.
The finish is a gloss polyurethane in Slime Green, with a color-matched "hockey stick" headstock that completes the vintage-modern EVH aesthetic. All hardware is chrome, including the EVH-branded Gotoh tuning machines.
A Neck Designed for Speed and Stability
The graphite-reinforced bolt-on quartersawn maple neck features EVH's modified "C" profile — carved and rolled to Eddie's specifications — with a hand-rubbed satin urethane back finish that keeps your hand moving freely. The quartersawn grain orientation adds long-term stability, resisting warping and shrinking over time. Neck thickness runs .790" at the 3rd fret and .825" at the 12th fret.
The 12"–16" compound radius maple fingerboard has 22 jumbo frets and black dot inlays. The compound radius means the fretboard is more curved near the nut for comfortable chording and gradually flattens toward the upper frets for clean, buzz-free bending. Scale length is 25.5", with a Floyd Rose R3 locking nut at 1.685" width. A heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel makes neck relief tweaks easy without removing the neck.
Wolfgang Humbuckers, Floyd Rose, and the D-Tuna
The 5150 Standard runs a pair of direct-mount EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbuckers — bridge and neck — controlled by a 3-way toggle switch on the upper bout. Direct mounting (no pickup rings) transfers more vibration directly to the body. A lower-bout kill switch lets you cut signal for stutter effects. Controls include a 500K EVH Bourns Low Friction volume pot with treble bleed circuit, and a 250K EVH Bourns High Friction tone pot that stays put even when accidentally bumped.
The EVH-branded top-mount Floyd Rose locking tremolo keeps tuning rock-solid through even aggressive use, while the patented EVH D-Tuna allows you to drop from standard to Drop D tuning instantly — a feature Eddie himself developed and used extensively on his personal guitars.
