A Vintage-Inspired P Bass with All the Right Appointments

The Fender Classic Series '50s Precision Bass reaches back to the earliest days of the electric bass — the late 1950s — and recreates what made those first Precision Basses so iconic. With a gold anodized aluminum pickguard, a chunky maple neck, and that classic thumpy single-coil P Bass voice, this is a bass that feels like it has a story even before you play a note.

This vintage Fender Classic Series '50s Precision Bass is in Used Excellent - with Normal Play Wear.

Whether you're a roots rock player chasing a fat low end, a gigging bassist who wants a reliable workhorse with period-correct looks, or just someone who appreciates a well-appointed MIM Fender at a used price — this bass is worth a close look.

Alder Body, Maple Neck — Classic Fender Tone

The body is alder, a wood Fender has leaned on for decades for its balanced, full-range tone. It pairs here with a one-piece maple neck and a maple fingerboard — the same all-maple setup that defined the earliest Precision Basses and gives this instrument a bright, punchy clarity on top of that warm P Bass low end.

The neck is carved into a "C" profile with a 7.25" radius — a noticeably vintage feel compared to modern flatter boards. The nut width sits at 1.75" (44.45 mm), which is wider than a standard modern P Bass nut. Players who prefer a roomier neck will feel right at home; those used to a narrower J Bass profile should try one first. Twenty vintage-style frets and a synthetic bone nut round out the neck spec.

Vintage Split Single-Coil Pickup and Hardware

The centerpiece of any Precision Bass is its pickup, and this one carries a vintage-style split single-coil Precision Bass pickup — passive, simple, and dialed in for that familiar P Bass voice. Controls are master volume and master tone, nothing more and nothing less. There's no active preamp here; just a straightforward signal chain that responds to your hands and your amp.

Hardware throughout is vintage-style: a 4-saddle American Vintage Bass bridge, American Vintage reverse open-gear tuning machines, and that distinctive gold anodized aluminum pickguard that immediately marks this as a '50s-era tribute. The 34" standard scale length keeps everything feeling familiar if you're coming from most other bass guitars.
