The TAS3 C is built with a solid Sitka spruce top treated with Yamaha's A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) process — a proprietary wood treatment that replicates the tonal characteristics of naturally aged tonewoods. The result is a top that responds with warmth and openness right out of the box, rather than needing years of playing-in time. Paired with solid mahogany back and sides, the body delivers a balanced, full-bodied voice with the warmth mahogany is known for.
The concert cutaway body shape sits comfortably and offers a well-focused midrange tone that works especially well for fingerpicking and singer-songwriter styles. The Venetian cutaway extends upper-fret access without compromising the body's acoustic resonance.
Built-In Effects, Looper, and Bluetooth — No Gear Required
The heart of the TAS3 C is Yamaha's TransAcoustic System76. Two actuators installed inside the body resonate in response to the strings, projecting the effects acoustically through the instrument itself. You get reverb, chorus, and delay with simple onboard controls, plus a built-in looper with a tap sensor that lets you capture and layer phrases without touching a phone or a pedal. Tap the body, build your loop, play over it — all in one guitar.
Bluetooth audio capability means you can stream music from a phone or tablet directly through the guitar body. Use it for playing along with reference tracks, practicing to a backing track, or just filling a room with sound. A built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a magnetic charging connector powers the electronics, giving you up to approximately 5.5 hours of use per charge. The TAG Remote app (iOS and Android) allows deeper parameter editing for the onboard effects.
