The D'Addario EXP115 brings D'Addario's EXP coating technology to the popular Medium/Blues/Jazz gauge — giving you a .011–.049 set built for 6-string electric guitar. If you prefer a heavier-tension string with more mass behind each note, this gauge is a well-established choice for blues, jazz, and hard strumming.
The EXP coating is applied to the nickel-plated steel wrap wire before winding, so the strings retain the round-wound feel and brightness of uncoated strings while lasting up to four times longer. Plain steel strings in the set go through D'Addario's compound tin-plating process for added corrosion resistance. The core wire is D'Addario's New York-manufactured high-carbon steel in a hex shape, which contributes to pitch stability and consistent intonation across the set. Individual gauges are .011, .014, .018, .028, .038, and .049.
