The D'Addario EJ26 is a Custom Light acoustic guitar string set in phosphor bronze — a gauge that sits between extra light and standard light to give you a bit more depth and projection up top without the added tension that makes bending harder. It's a hybrid setup: lighter plain strings on top (.011, .015), and standard light-gauge wound strings on the bottom (.022, .032, .042, .052).
The wound strings are precision-wound with corrosion-resistant phosphor bronze over a hexagonally-shaped high carbon steel core. That hex core design helps the wrap wire grip securely, which contributes to consistent intonation and dimensional stability across the life of the string.
