The D'Addario NYXL1152 is a set of nickel wound electric guitar strings in Medium Top/Heavy Bottom gauge (11–52). This is a hybrid gauging designed for players who want moderate flexibility on the high strings paired with a tighter, fuller feel on the low end — great if you like to bend on the treble side but want some extra mass for chunkier chord work or lower tuning.
At the core of the NYXL series is D'Addario's proprietary NY Steel — a high-carbon steel alloy drawn in-house at their New York facility. The plain strings (.011, .014, .018) use a "fusion twist" process at the ball end for improved tuning stability, while the wound strings (.030, .042, .052) wrap reformulated nickel-plated steel around a hexagonal steel core. That reformulated winding gives the wound strings enhanced magnetic properties, which translates to a noticeable bump in output and midrange presence in the 1–3.5 kHz range. The strings ship in environmentally friendly, corrosion-resistant packaging to keep them fresh until you're ready to play.
