Big Sound, Small Package, Big Personality
Some guitars are content to blend in. The Taylor GS Mini-e Special Edition in Floral Blue is decidedly not one of them. Custom floral artwork splashed across a sky-blue background makes this one of the most eye-catching takes on the GS Mini platform Taylor has ever released — and that's saying something for a guitar that's already one of the most popular compact acoustics in the world.
Beneath all that visual personality is a genuinely capable acoustic-electric. The GS Mini body — a scaled-down take on Taylor's Grand Symphony shape — produces surprising volume and projection for its compact dimensions. The 23-1/2" scale and slender 1-11/16" nut width make it an easy, comfortable player from the first chord, whether you're at home on the couch, on a long flight, or around a campfire.
This is the kind of guitar that earns a permanent spot in the corner of your living room — the one you actually pick up every day because it's just always there and always ready.
A Torrefied Top That Punches Above Its Class
The most notable spec on this GS Mini-e is the solid torrefied Sitka spruce top. Torrefaction is a controlled roasting process that gives the spruce a more mature tonal character right out of the box — adding warmth, depth, and a played-in sweetness that typically takes years to develop naturally. On a compact body like the GS Mini, that extra tonal maturity makes a real difference, giving the guitar a more sophisticated acoustic voice than you'd expect from its size.
X-bracing with a relief rout supports the top's lively, resonant response, helping the compact body deliver strong acoustic volume and projection. Layered sapele back and sides provide a balanced, durable foundation — sapele contributes a clear, focused character that complements the warmth of the torrefied top and works well across strumming, fingerpicking, and chord-based songwriting alike.
Ready to Plug In
The "e" in the model name means this GS Mini comes equipped with Taylor's ES-B electronics, a purpose-built acoustic pickup system with a built-in digital chromatic tuner. No external clip-on needed — the tuner is right there when you need it. The ES-B delivers clean, natural-sounding amplified tone that holds up at a small venue, a recording session, or an acoustic practice setup.
The Standard Carve Neo-Tropical Mahogany neck and West African Crelicam Ebony fretboard give it a familiar, comfortable playing feel. The ebony bridge and NuBone nut round out a hardware package that's thoughtfully spec'd throughout. Die-cast chrome tuners and classic 4mm dot fretboard inlays keep the aesthetic clean and unfussy — the artwork on the top does the talking visually.
