If you own a Taylor GS Mini Bass, these are the strings made specifically for it. D'Addario developed the XTB3790GS set in collaboration with Taylor Guitars — it's a custom light (.037–.090) phosphor bronze set sized for the GS Mini's 23.5" short scale, and it also fits other short-scale or parlor acoustic basses with a scale length in the 23–25" range. These strings do not contain tapers.
The XTB3790GS is built on D'Addario's multi-filament core with phosphor bronze wrap wire, then treated with their XT advanced corrosion resistance coating. The coating is designed to extend string life while keeping the tone and feel close to uncoated strings — no thick, plastic-y feel here. This set is also the direct replacement for the older EXPPB190GS, using the same core and wrap construction but updated to XT coating technology. All four strings in the set are individually coated.
