A Left-Handed Grand Concert Ready to Plug In
Finding a quality left-handed acoustic-electric that doesn't feel like an afterthought can be trickier than it should be. The Ibanez PC50WSLCE takes that search off your plate. It's a compact Grand Concert body with a Venetian cutaway, built-in electronics, and an open-pore brown finish that gives it a warm, natural look — all from one of the most trusted names in the acoustic game.
The Grand Concert shape keeps things comfortable whether you're sitting at home running through chord changes or standing up on a small stage. It's not as boomy as a dreadnought, which means you get a clearer, more balanced response — particularly useful if you tend to fingerpick or play in a mix where you need to sit in the pocket without overwhelming everything else.
With the AEQ-2T preamp and undersaddle pickup already onboard, this guitar is ready to go from the couch to the stage without any extra investment. It's a straightforward instrument that covers a lot of ground at an accessible price point.
White Siris Body — A Different Kind of Tone Wood
The PC50WSLCE uses White Siris for the top, back, and sides. White Siris is a tonewood that Ibanez has leaned into on several of their acoustic models — it produces a clear, balanced tone with a slightly bright character and has a distinctive, exotic grain pattern that gives the guitar a look that stands out from the typical spruce-and-mahogany crowd.
The laminated construction on the top, back, and sides helps keep this guitar stable across changing humidity and temperature conditions — a practical advantage for a gigging instrument that moves around. The open-pore brown finish lets the wood breathe and gives the surface a natural, matte feel under your picking arm and fretting hand.
Neck, Fretboard, and Playability
The meranti neck uses Ibanez's PC profile — a comfortable shape designed to be easy on the hand for extended playing sessions. It joins the body at the 14th fret and carries a 21-fret Nandu wood fretboard with white dot inlays and binding along the edges. The 25-inch scale length sits on the shorter side compared to a standard dreadnought scale, which means slightly lighter string tension — a welcome trait if you're still building up calluses or prefer a more relaxed feel.
At the nut end, you have a plastic nut, and the bridge is also Nandu wood — the same material as the fretboard — with a compensated plastic saddle. Chrome die-cast tuning machines handle tuning stability at the headstock, and the Ibanez Advantage bridge pins make string changes notably quicker than traditional pins.
Electronics: AEQ-2T Preamp with Onboard Tuner
The undersaddle Ibanez pickup feeds into the AEQ-2T preamp, which gives you independent bass and treble controls for dialing in your amplified tone. The onboard tuner is a particularly handy feature — it operates without the guitar being plugged in, so you can tune silently between songs or during a soundcheck without fumbling for a separate tuner pedal. The output is a standard 1/4" jack.
For players who want to plug in at open mics, coffeehouse gigs, or small venues, these electronics give you everything you need to get a usable amplified sound without extra gear.
