Fender Tones Without the Fuss
There's a reason you've probably seen a Fender Champion amp sitting in the corner of just about every practice room and small venue you've ever walked into. The Champion series has quietly been one of Fender's most practical, no-nonsense lineups for years — and the Champion II 50 picks up right where that reputation left off. Plug in, pick a voice, dial a couple of knobs, and you're playing. That's genuinely the whole process.
The Champion II 50 is a 50-watt, 1x12" solid-state combo built around a Fender Special Design speaker, two channels, and a built-in effects section that covers most of what you'd reach for a pedalboard to do. It's the kind of amp that gets out of your way and lets you focus on playing. Whether you're working through songs at home, rehearsing with a band, or playing a small gig, there's enough here to handle it.
This is a genuinely versatile amp for players at any stage who want real, usable Fender tones without a complicated setup or a tube amp's price tag.
Two Channels, Multiple Voices
Channel 1 gives you a clean, uncolored input with a single Volume control — a straight shot into Fender's signature clean tone, ready to take pedals or just stay pure. Channel 2 opens things up considerably: Gain and Volume controls plus a Voice knob that lets you shift between '60s, '70s, and '80s amp voicings. That means you can sweep from vintage sparkle through classic crunch to higher-gain modern tones without ever leaving Channel 2.
The master section handles the overall EQ (Treble and Bass) along with the effects controls. It's a two-band EQ, so you won't have a midrange sweep to work with — worth knowing if your sound lives or dies on mid-shaping. But for most players, the Treble and Bass controls are plenty to get a useful sound dialed in quickly.
Built-In Effects and Tap Tempo
The onboard effects section covers reverb, delay/echo, chorus, tremolo, Vibratone, and more — selectable via the FX Select control, with the FX Level knob blending them into your dry signal. No menu-diving, no app required. Just turn a knob and you're there.
One of the more useful features here is the TAP button, which lets you set delay times and tremolo speeds by tapping in tempo. If you're playing along to a track or holding down a consistent tempo with a band, the TAP button keeps your time-based effects locked in. It's a feature you'll actually use, not just a spec on a sheet.
Connectivity and Practice Features
The Champion II 50 includes a 1/8" auxiliary input so you can connect a phone or media player and play along to anything. The headphone output lets you practice silently — useful late at night or in a shared space. Around back, there's a USB port for firmware updates and recording connectivity. These aren't flashy features, but they make the amp genuinely more useful day-to-day.
The cabinet itself is built from 7-ply 3/4" medium-density fibreboard with black textured vinyl covering and a silver grille cloth — the classic Fender look at a very approachable price point. A footswitch jack is available for channel switching (footswitch sold separately).
