The D'Addario EXP23 is a coated phosphor bronze string set made specifically for acoustic baritone guitars. Whether you're playing a modern shorter-scale baritone or tuning a standard acoustic guitar down low, this set handles the tension and keeps things sounding full and balanced across all six strings.
Each string uses D'Addario's EXP coating process — a micro-fine layer bonded to the phosphor bronze wrap wire before it's wound onto a hex-shaped NY high-carbon steel core. That construction gives the strings a break-resistant feel and solid pitch stability, while keeping the tone closer to uncoated strings than many coated sets manage. D'Addario rates these for up to four times the life of traditional strings, and they ship in corrosion-resistant packaging so they're fresh right out of the envelope. Gauges run Plain Steel .016 and .022, with Phosphor Bronze Wound .029, .048, .060, and .070.
