Music Man's original StingRay guitar was always a little ahead of its time — double-cut body, block inlays, that unmistakable silhouette. At the heart of the SR50X is a pair of P90-style single-coil pickups routed through a 3-way toggle selector, covering everything from clean sparkle to gritty mid-push. Dial in your tone with the single tone knob, then hit the push/push volume control when you need that extra surge — it activates an onboard 12dB boost, which is the kind of feature you didn't know you needed until you're trying to cut through a loud room.

A Neck Worth Talking About
The roasted maple neck and fingerboard are one of the SR50X's real selling points. Roasting wood removes excess moisture and sugars, leaving behind a more dimensionally stable, resonant neck with that dry, fast feel that players associate with much more expensive instruments. The 25.5" scale and 12" fingerboard radius give you a familiar, open feel — good for big bends, comfortable for chord work.
White pearloid block inlays run up the roasted maple fretboard, offering clear positional reference while reinforcing that vintage-style aesthetic. The 22 frets give you plenty of range, and with a 1.65" nut width, the neck profile sits comfortably in most hands without feeling too wide or too cramped.
Hardware That Backs It Up
The vintage-style tremolo is one of the more underrated parts of this package. It's the classic floating-arm style that adds expressiveness without requiring a trip to the tuner every five minutes — and that's largely thanks to the locking tuners. Locking tuners at this price point are genuinely useful: faster string changes, better tuning retention, and a bit more peace of mind if you're using that trem.
The 5-bolt neck joint keeps everything tight and well-planted, contributing to the overall resonance and stability of the instrument. The poplar body is lightweight and naturally balanced, making this an easy guitar to play for extended sessions without the shoulder fatigue that heavier instruments can bring.

This item is a "B-Stock Electric Guitar" directly from the manufacturer. It is NEW Stock that has never been owned. Pictures are of the actual Electric Guitar you will receive.
We will have our licensed tech go over the Electric Guitar and set it up for you. On this Electric Guitar, Sterling states it is B-Stock due to fine finish scratches on body and finish imperfection on back of body (see pictures). This may not be the only defect that causes it to be a B-Stock, but it is the one sterling identified.
