A Solid Spruce Top That Means Business
The CS24-RR starts with a hand-selected solid spruce top — and that word "solid" matters. Spruce is the go-to tonewood for acoustic guitar tops for good reason: it produces a bright, clear, well-projected sound that responds to both light fingerpicking and heavy strumming. Quartersawn scalloped X-bracing underneath supports the top while allowing it to resonate freely, giving the guitar a voice that's louder and livelier than you might expect from a mid-depth body.
The center soundhole design of the Celebrity Traditional series gives this guitar a more conventional acoustic look and feel compared to Ovation's multi-soundhole models, while still benefiting from the unique acoustic properties of the Lyrachord bowl. The nato neck has a satin finish and comfortable profile, with a 25.3" scale length and a 1-11/16" nut width. The ovangkol fingerboard and bridge add a subtle brightness to the overall tone. Pearloid dot inlays keep things visually clean, and die-cast chrome tuners hold tune reliably through a long set.
