Mahogany Body with Poplar Figured Burl Top
The body of the Omen Elite-6 FR is mahogany — a tonewood long associated with warmth, full-bodied sustain, and a midrange that sits well in a dense mix. On top of that sits an arched poplar figured burl veneer in the Black Cherry Burst finish, giving each guitar its own unique grain pattern. Poplar is a lightweight, resonant wood that keeps the overall weight down without sacrificing clarity.
The body features black 1-ply binding and an arched top contour, and the back of the guitar wears a satin finish — which you'll appreciate during longer playing sessions when a high-gloss back tends to grab at your arm. The overall hardware is all blacked out, from the tuners to the strap buttons, giving the guitar a unified, no-nonsense look.
Maple Thin "C" Neck and Rosewood Fingerboard
The bolt-on maple neck carries a Thin "C" profile — slim enough for fast single-note runs without feeling like it disappeared in your hand. Neck thickness runs .787" at the 1st fret and .866" at the 12th, keeping it consistent and approachable through the full range. The satin finish on the back of the neck means your hand moves freely without any sticky drag.
The 14"-radius rosewood fingerboard hosts 24 X-Jumbo frets across a 25.5" scale length, with pearloid line inlays for clean position marking. A flatter 14" radius is particularly good news for bending — the strings are less likely to fret out when you push them hard, which matters a lot on a guitar designed for aggressive playing. The nut is a Floyd Rose Special, set at 1.625" width.
Floyd Rose Special "Hot Rod" and Schecter Heretic Pickups
The bridge is a Floyd Rose Special "Hot Rod" Locking Tremolo — a Schecter exclusive variant of the classic Floyd Rose design. Double-locking at both the nut and bridge means once you're in tune, dive bombs, pull-ups, and everything in between won't throw you off. It's a genuinely rock-solid system for the kind of playing this guitar encourages.
In the pickup slots, Schecter installs a matched pair of Diamond Heretic humbuckers at both neck and bridge positions. These are passive pickups voiced for a tight, aggressive output with a clear high end — well suited for high-gain tones without the muddiness that sometimes plagues cheaper humbuckers in this price range. The control layout keeps things simple: one volume, one tone, and a 5-way blade switch for pickup selection flexibility that goes beyond the standard two-position HH setup.
