Premium Tonewoods from Top to Bottom
The fully curved body is carved from lightweight Swamp Ash, giving the bass a resonant, lively character without excess weight. On top sits a highly figured Poplar Burl top — the kind of visual that makes solid colors seem like an afterthought. Because Burl grain is always unique, the Haunted Moss Matte finish doesn't just sit on the surface; it interacts with the figure underneath to create something that shifts in different light.
The 5-piece Maple and Wenge neck is built for stability and feel. Maple brings stiffness and brightness, while Wenge adds a darker, more complex midrange character — together they balance each other out nicely. The 24-fret Wenge fingerboard continues that theme, and its illuminating side dots mean you're never guessing your position on a dark stage.
Fishman Fluence Electronics — Three Voices, Zero Hum
Two Fishman Fluence humbucker pickups sit at the heart of the NS Dimension's electronics package, driven by a Fishman Fluence preamp system. The Fluence pickups are active humbuckers, meaning you get dead-quiet operation — no 60-cycle hum to fight — across a broad tonal range. A 3-way voice selection switch dials in different pickup voicings, from vintage warmth to a more aggressive modern character.
The onboard controls give you Master Volume, a Blend knob, and Bass Cut/Boost and Treble Cut/Boost for active EQ shaping. The multi-brass-saddle bridge is designed specifically for the multi-scale layout, keeping intonation accurate string-to-string. Hardware throughout is finished in black, giving the bass a sleek, unified look that lets the wood and finish do the talking.
Multi-Scale Construction — What It Actually Means to Play One
The NS Dimension 4 uses a 34"–36" fanned-fret, multi-scale construction with neck-through build. Neck-through design means the neck wood runs the full length of the body, which contributes to longer sustain and a smooth transition from neck to body. The fanned frets — once you've played them for ten minutes — feel surprisingly natural, and players often find that the ergonomics actually reduce wrist strain compared to a traditional parallel-fret layout.
The graphite nut and 1.625" nut width give you a comfortable starting point for your left hand, and the 24 jumbo frets cover plenty of range for chords, solos, and tapping alike. Sealed die-cast tuners round out the hardware, keeping the bass in tune reliably through long sets.
