The Majesty in Siberian Sapphire — John Petrucci's Vision, Now Yours

If you've ever watched Dream Theater and wondered what it would take to get your hands on that futuristic, angular guitar John Petrucci plays, the Sterling by Music Man Majesty MAJ100 is your answer. This is the Siberian Sapphire finish — a deep, rich blue that gives the Majesty's already eye-catching silhouette a whole new level of presence. It's a guitar that looks like it means business before you've played a single note.

The Majesty's design wasn't just about aesthetics, though. The body shape, the neck joint, the way it balances on a strap — every detail was worked out in close collaboration between Sterling by Music Man and John Petrucci to make this thing genuinely comfortable to play from the first fret to the last. That's 24 frets, fully accessible, on a set-in neck that flows right into the body without getting in your way.

This particular guitar is a B-Stock unit directly from Sterling by Music Man — new stock, never owned — in Siberian Sapphire. Our licensed tech will go over it and set it up before it goes out the door.

A Neck That Gets Out of Your Way

The heart of what makes the Majesty play the way it does is the 3-piece mahogany set-in neck. Mahogany brings warmth and sustain to the party, and the set-in construction tightens that connection between neck and body for resonance you can feel as much as hear. The neck heel is sculpted specifically so your upper-fret hand position feels natural — no awkward thumb wrap or elbow gymnastics required.

The rosewood fretboard runs a 16" radius — flatter than many guitars you've played, which means chord shapes feel comfortable without any fretting out during bends. Medium jumbo frets give you just enough height to keep things effortless, and the nut width of 1.65" sits right in a sweet spot between cramped and too roomy. Whether you're playing intricate runs or big open chords, this neck feels ready.

The dual-action truss rod adjusts from the body end via a thumb wheel — a Music Man hallmark that makes neck adjustments genuinely fast and tool-free.

Pickups, Boost, and Tonal Control

The MAJ100 carries a pair of Sterling by Music Man ceramic-magnet humbuckers in an HH configuration. These are voiced to handle everything from clean articulation to the kind of high-gain, harmonically rich territory that Petrucci is known for. The 3-way toggle pickup selector is recessed into the body — a deliberate design choice so it sits flush and stays out of the way during aggressive playing while remaining accessible when you need it.

The push-push volume knob activates an onboard 12dB active boost. One push and you've got a significant level and harmonic lift waiting for leads or for pushing your amp into that extra bit of saturation. It runs on a standard 9V battery and adds a layer of versatility without adding extra switches to the control layout. You've got one volume, one tone, and one pickup selector — clean, logical, and fast to operate under pressure.

Tremolo, Tuning, and the Laser-Etched Top

The Majesty's modern tremolo is rear-routed, which means you can both push down and pull up on the bar for a wider range of pitch manipulation. Locking tuners keep everything stable even after heavy use of the bar — you shouldn't need to retune constantly between songs. The 25.5" scale length gives strings good tension and brightness, which works well with the ceramic pickups for that clear, defined attack.

One more detail worth noting: the Majesty features a laser-etched top in a shield pattern that resembles carbon fiber. It's subtle in photos but striking in person, and it's part of what makes the Siberian Sapphire finish particularly compelling — that deep blue playing off the etched texture gives the guitar a look that's hard to put in a box.
