There's a reason it keeps coming up — it quietly packs a spec sheet that most guitars at this price point can't match, and it plays like it means it. The PAC612VIIFM takes that same foundation and adds a laminated flame maple top in a rich Indigo Blue gloss finish that genuinely turns heads.
Under the hood, you're getting three Seymour Duncan pickups, a Wilkinson VS50 tremolo, Grover locking tuners, and a Graph Tech TUSQ nut. Those are name-brand components you'd expect to find on guitars costing significantly more, and they're all working together here in a no-nonsense bolt-on package.

This item is a B-Stock guitar sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is new and has never been previously owned. The photos shown are of the exact instrument you will receive. Before shipment, our licensed technician will inspect and professionally set up the guitar to ensure it is playing its best. During our inspection, we noticed Finish crack on both sides of heel, surface scuffs on neck plate, 1/4" puncture dent near top strap button. (see pictures) Please note, these may not be the only cosmetic imperfections. As a B-Stock instrument, there may be additional minor blemishes that are small in nature and do not affect playability or performance.
Alder Body with a Flame Maple Top
The PAC612VIIFM is built around a solid alder body — a tonewood long favored in double-cutaway electrics for its balanced, even response across the frequency range. Sitting on top is a laminated flamed maple veneer, finished in gloss polyurethane. The result is a guitar that looks more expensive than its price tag suggests, with the flame pattern adding real visual character to the Indigo Blue finish.
The body features a back contour so it sits comfortably against your body during long sessions — a detail that's easy to overlook until you've played a guitar without one.
A Neck That Gets Out of Your Way
The bolt-on maple neck carries a C-shaped profile, finished in gloss polyurethane, and connects to a rosewood fingerboard with a 13-3/4" (350mm) radius. That's a notably flatter radius than vintage Fender-style boards — closer to modern shred territory — which gives you more room to bend without fretting out. The 22 medium frets over a 25.5" scale feel immediately familiar if you've played any Strat-style instrument.
The nut is Graph Tech TUSQ, measuring 41mm at the zero fret. It's a well-regarded synthetic material that helps reduce string binding and contributes to tuning stability — especially relevant when you're using the tremolo. Neck thickness runs 20.9mm at the first fret and 22.9mm at the twelfth, which is on the comfortable side for a C profile.
Seymour Duncan Pickups — All Three of Them
Yamaha didn't compromise on electronics here. The neck and middle positions carry Seymour Duncan SSL-1 vintage-style staggered pole single-coils (the middle is reverse-wound/reverse-polarity for hum cancellation in positions 2 and 4). The bridge gets a Seymour Duncan TB-14 Custom 5 Trembucker — a full humbucker sized to work properly with a tremolo route.
A 5-position blade switch gives you the standard single-coil combinations in between positions, and the master tone knob doubles as a push-pull coil-split for the bridge pickup. Pull it up and the TB-14 splits to a single-coil voice, adding a whole extra range of tonal options without touching anything else. It's a genuinely flexible setup that rewards players who like to dial in different sounds across a set.
Hardware Built for Stability
The Wilkinson VS50 6 tremolo bridge handles vibrato duties, with a slot-in arm and 10.8mm string spacing. It's a well-regarded unit that balances smooth tremolo action with solid return-to-pitch performance. Grover locking tuners at the headstock complete the picture — once you're tuned up and the locks are engaged, this guitar stays put, even after using the bar.
The 3-ply black pickguard keeps the classic HSS look tidy, and D'Addario EXL120 strings (.009–.042) are installed from the factory.
