The Euro 4 LX Bolt-On is Spector's first-ever LX bolt-on electric bass guitar — and it brings everything that made the Euro LX a player's favorite, now with the snappy articulation and familiar response that bolt-on fans love.
These basses are production versions of coveted instruments, with the same sleek carved bodies as their US-made cousins. Euro series basses are handcrafted in the Czech Republic using top-shelf tonewoods from the United States and Europe. You're getting a serious instrument here — not a budget approximation of a boutique bass, but the real thing built to exacting standards.
This Black Stain finish is one of four hand-rubbed stains in the Euro LX lineup. The Euro LX range is available in four distinct, hand-rubbed stains, each featuring a durable and comfortable matte finish. It looks understated, plays effortlessly, and the matte surface keeps your hands moving without any sticky gloss slowing you down.
Tonewoods Built for the Long Haul
Each Euro LX bass is crafted using premium materials, including a European Alder body, figured European Maple top, and a 3-piece North American Maple neck combined with a Rosewood fingerboard for strength, stability, and sustain. The European alder body is solid — not laminate — giving you the resonance and sustain that players at this level expect.
The fast 3-piece hard rock maple bolt-on neck features a comfortable "C" profile, and the 24-fret rosewood fingerboard has a 16-inch radius with MOP crown inlays. The flatter radius makes it especially comfortable for chord work and long sessions, while the crown inlays give it that signature Spector look up and down the neck. Scale length is a standard 34", and the nut comes in at 1.64" wide — a comfortable, traditional feel for four-string players.
These basses are outfitted with a lightweight, aluminum bridge for spot-on, reliable intonation. Spector's aluminum locking bridge with brass saddles keeps everything in tune and transfers string energy efficiently into the body.
Electronics: EMG + Darkglass in One Package
The Spector Euro LX Bolt-On packs a potent combo of active EMG PJ pickups and the Legacy preamp. The P-style pickup in the neck position gives you that thick, fundamental thump, while the J-style bridge pickup adds definition, cut, and a bit of growl when you blend it in. Run them together and you've got a wide tonal palette that can handle just about any style.
The all-new Spector Legacy preamp was designed in collaboration with Darkglass Electronics to deliver the classic "Spector growl" heard on countless iconic recordings over the years. The onboard 2-band active EQ — bass and treble boost/cut — lets you dial in your sound quickly at the gig or fine-tune it in the studio. This preamp is a genuine upgrade from what you'd find in most basses at this price point, and the Darkglass collaboration is no marketing afterthought.
