RG Shape, Reverse Headstock, No Nonsense

Some guitars want to be everything to everyone. The Ibanez Iron Label RGRB620 is not one of those guitars. It picks a lane — modern metal and hard rock — and stays there with total commitment. The reverse headstock announces it immediately, and everything underneath backs it up: a Nyatoh body carved into Ibanez's iconic RG double-cutaway shape, a lightning-fast Wizard III neck, an ebony fingerboard, and a pair of DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers that don't need a battery to hit hard.

The RGRB620 is a 6-string solidbody built around the idea that every feature should earn its place. If it doesn't directly contribute to tone, playability, or stability, it probably isn't here. The result is a guitar that's stripped of fuss but loaded with capability — whether you're tracking heavy rhythms in the studio or taking a set to the limit on stage.

If you want a guitar that does one thing exceptionally well and does it every single night, this one deserves a serious look.

This item is a B-Stock guitar sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is new and has never been previously owned. The photos shown are of the exact instrument you will receive. Before shipment, our licensed technician will inspect and professionally set up the guitar to ensure it is playing its best. During our inspection, we noticed Flaw on heel, flaw on back body lower bout edge near strap button. (see pictures) Please note, these may not be the only cosmetic imperfections. As a B-Stock instrument, there may be additional minor blemishes that are small in nature and do not affect playability or performance.

Built for Down-Tuning and Fast Playing

The body is Nyatoh — a dense, resonant tonewood that produces a rich mid-low emphasis, making it a natural fit for heavily gained, down-tuned playing where clarity and thickness need to coexist. It's carved into Ibanez's classic RG double-cutaway shape with sculpted bevels for comfort, and finished in satin polyurethane in a flat black that keeps the focus on the playing.

The Wizard III profile neck is one of the thinnest, flattest production necks you'll find anywhere. Built from a 5-piece maple and walnut laminate, it's both stable and fast. The 25.5" scale (648mm) keeps standard tuning feeling crisp and responsive, while the 24-fret ebony fingerboard — with a 400mm (15.75") radius — is flat enough to handle high-speed runs without choking bends. Jumbo frets and a locking nut round out a neck that's ready for the most demanding technical work. Luminescent side dots keep you oriented when the lights go down.

DiMarzio D Activators and the dyna-MIX10 System

The RGRB620 runs a pair of DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers — one at the neck, one at the bridge — both passive and ceramic-magnet equipped. The D Activators are designed to deliver the kind of tight, punchy attack and clean output that high-gain amp rigs demand, without the battery dependency of active pickups. You get a full, open sound with strong harmonic content and a very controlled low end.

What sets the RGRB620's electronics apart is the dyna-MIX10 switching system with Alter Switch. Rather than a standard 5-way, this system unlocks 10 distinct sound variations — including a Power Tap mode that delivers a convincing single-coil character out of the humbucker layout. It's a significant tonal range for a guitar that looks this stripped-down. A single volume knob and a tone control keep the interface clean.

Edge-Zero II Tremolo and Gotoh Tuners

The bridge is Ibanez's Edge-Zero II, a double-locking tremolo with a low-profile design built for both playing comfort and tuning stability. A stud lock function lets you tighten down the bridge when you want hardtail-like rigidity, giving you the option to disable the floating action entirely if that's your preference. Paired with a locking nut up top, the RGRB620 is equipped to hold pitch under heavy use.

Gotoh machine heads handle the other end. Gotoh is a widely respected tuner manufacturer, and their machines on this guitar contribute to the tuning precision and smooth feel that the whole system depends on. The hardware throughout is finished in black, consistent with the guitar's no-frills, focused aesthetic. The eye-catching reverse headstock completes the look.
