Before shipment, our licensed technician will inspect and professionally set up the guitar to ensure it is playing its best. During our inspection, we noticed Sand through on top behind bridge. (see pictures) Please note, these may not be the only cosmetic imperfections. As a B-Stock instrument, there may be additional minor blemishes that are small in nature and do not affect playability or performance.
Speed and Comfort Start at the Neck
Ibanez's Wizard III neck is one of the slimmest, flattest neck profiles in production electric guitars. Crafted from maple with a bolt-on construction, it measures just 19mm at the first fret and 21mm at the twelfth — thin enough that aggressive shredding feels almost effortless, while still offering enough meat for comfortable chord work. The satin polyurethane neck finish keeps things smooth so your hand glides freely, even during long sessions.
The jatoba fretboard gives you 24 jumbo frets across a 400mm (15.7") radius — relatively flat, which works well for low action setups and fast lead playing. Sharktooth inlays mark each position with an aggressive aesthetic that fits right in with the RG's overall vibe. Nut width comes in at 43mm with a locking nut that works hand-in-hand with the tremolo system.
A Tremolo System That Actually Stays in Tune
The Edge-Zero II double-locking tremolo is the bridge doing the heavy lifting here. It locks at both the nut and the saddles, which means the strings stay in tune even after aggressive whammy bar use. Dive bombs, flutter effects, and pull-ups are all on the table without the guitar going out of tune between runs. If you've ever played a double-locking tremolo that was set up correctly, you already know how confident it makes you feel going into a performance.
All hardware — bridge, tuners, knobs — wears a black finish that ties the visual package together neatly and contrasts sharply with the Roadster Orange Metallic body.
Three Pickups, Five Positions, One Versatile Tone Palette
The RG460DX comes loaded with Ibanez's Quantum pickup set in an SSH configuration. The bridge position uses a Quantum humbucker (passive, ceramic magnet) for tight, high-gain rhythm tones and punchy leads. The neck and middle positions each feature a Quantum single-coil (passive, alnico magnet), dialing in cleaner, more articulate tones that work well for single-note lines and lighter playing. A 5-way blade switch lets you blend between positions, and the controls are straightforward: one master volume and one master tone.
The meranti body — a dense, solid hardwood used across Ibanez's Standard lineup — delivers a balanced tonal foundation with enough sustain to support both clean and high-gain playing styles.
