A Headless Wonder with a Lot to Say
There's a moment when you pick up a bass like the Ibanez EHB1675MS and realize it was designed by people who actually think about what bassists deal with — weight fatigue, neck dive, tonal limitations, you name it. The EHB1675MS sidesteps all of that with a headless, ergonomic build that's genuinely comfortable for long rehearsals or gigs, and it brings enough tonal firepower to handle just about any style you throw at it.
At its core, this is a 5-string multi-scale bass featuring an ash body with a Pale Moon Ebony top — a combination that balances the warmth and brightness you want from a working bass. The multi-scale fretboard runs from 33" on the high strings to 35" on the low B, which means better tension and clarity across all five strings without sacrificing playability in the upper register.
Pair all of that with dual Fishman Fluence active humbuckers and a 3-band EQ with Voice Select, and you have a bass that can convincingly move between vintage warmth, full-frequency modern clarity, and scooped funk territory — sometimes mid-set. If you've been looking for a serious instrument that doesn't feel like a compromise anywhere, this EHB1675MS is worth a hard look.
This item is a B-Stock guitar sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is new and has never been previously owned. The photos shown are of the exact instrument you will receive. Before shipment, our licensed technician will inspect and professionally set up the guitar to ensure it is playing its best. During our inspection, we noticed Gloss over crack on front body above bridge.. (see pictures) Please note, these may not be the only cosmetic imperfections. As a B-Stock instrument, there may be additional minor blemishes that are small in nature and do not affect playability or performance.
Ash Body, Pale Moon Ebony Top, and a Chambered Secret
The EHB1675MS body is built from ash — a tonewood known for its lively brightness and sustain — and topped with a stunning Pale Moon Ebony cap that displays its own natural grain character. But here's the detail that matters for players who spend hours on their feet: the body is strategically chambered. Ibanez removed material in specific areas to reduce overall weight without sacrificing the solid feel or resonance of the instrument.
The body's ergonomic contours include a slanted back that positions the bass closer to your body whether you're sitting or standing, and rounded edges that make contact points comfortable over a long set. It's a thoughtful design rather than a gimmick — you'll feel the difference the first time you strap it on for a full practice session.
The 9-Piece Neck and Multi-Scale Fretboard
The neck is a 9-piece laminate of Panga Panga and Walnut reinforced with graphite rods — a construction approach that prioritizes stability and sustain over simpler single-piece designs. The bolt-on EHB5 neck profile is comfortable and consistent, with a 45mm nut width and a 500mm (19.685") fretboard radius that suits players who spend time in the upper register.
The bound Panga Panga fretboard hosts 24 medium stainless steel frets with offset Abalone dot inlays and luminescent side dots. Stainless steel frets are notably more durable than standard nickel frets and stay slick under fast playing. The multi-scale design — 35" on the low B string, 33" on the G — gives each string its optimal tension, which translates directly into a cleaner, more defined low B and a more comfortable feel across the board.
Fishman Fluence Pickups and Electronics
The two Fishman Fluence active humbucker pickups are the tonal centerpiece of this instrument. These pickups feature stainless covers and deliver Fishman's Multi-Voice performance, which means the 3-way Voice Select switch fundamentally changes the pickup's sonic character: Voice 1 delivers a passive-style classic, fat and round tone; Voice 2 active mode opens up full-frequency dynamics; and Voice 2 with mid contour gives you that punchy, scooped funk/hi-fi character. That's genuine versatility, not just a tone knob.
The Fishman-designed 3-band EQ — developed specifically for Ibanez — adds bass, mid, and treble controls with a center frequency on the mid band sitting at 630Hz. The push/pull Single Coil Mode switch on the volume pot gives you an additional layer of flexibility. Rounding out the hardware is an MR5HS mono-rail bridge with individually adjustable saddles for string spacing up to ±1.5mm, a Neutrik locking output jack, and Schaller S-Lock strap lock pins. All hardware is finished in black.
