Before shipment, our licensed technician will inspect and professionally set up the guitar to ensure it is playing its best. During our inspection, we noticed white marks on treble side of neck pocket. (see pictures) Please note, these may not be the only cosmetic imperfections. As a B-Stock instrument, there may be additional minor blemishes that are small in nature and do not affect playability or performance.
Built for Speed: Neck, Fretboard, and Feel
The Demon-6 FR runs a bolt-on maple neck in Schecter's Thin "C" profile — shallow front-to-back at .787" at the 1st fret and .866" at the 12th fret, so your hand stays relaxed even during extended runs. Paired with a 25.5" scale and a 14" fretboard radius, it's a setup that keeps chord shapes comfortable while staying flat enough for fast single-note work.
The fretboard itself is wenge — a wood that's noticeably open-grained and slightly textured, which many players find slides naturally under the fingertips. Add 24 X-jumbo frets and you get big fret wire that really lets you dig in on bends and vibrato without fighting the wood. The grey pearloid gothic cross inlays give you clear position markers without being flashy.
The Floyd Rose locking nut (1.625" / 41.3mm width) locks down string tension at the headstock end, so when you're using the tremolo, intonation stays consistent across all strings. Setup takes a little patience, but the stability payoff is real.
Active Pickups That Don't Need Coaxing
Both neck and bridge positions are loaded with Schecter Diamond Active HB-105S humbuckers. Unlike passive pickups, active designs use a built-in preamp (powered by a 9-volt battery via the clip-in compartment) to deliver a consistent, high-output signal. That means tight low end, articulate mids, and clear attack — even at high gain levels where passive pickups can get muddy.
Controls are straightforward: volume, tone, and a 3-way toggle switch. No push-pulls or coil splits here — just clean, reliable routing that gets out of the way and lets you play. For rock and metal applications, this setup is exactly what you want.
The Bridge: Floyd Rose Special "Hot Rod"
Schecter fits the Demon-6 FR with a Floyd Rose Special "Hot Rod" locking tremolo — a Schecter exclusive configuration of the Floyd Rose Special platform. The double-locking system (locking nut plus saddle locks) keeps the guitar in tune even through dive bombs and up-bends that would send a standard tremolo out of pitch. If you've used a Floyd Rose before, you know the drill: setup takes more time than a hardtail, but once it's dialed in, it stays put.
Hardware throughout is finished in black chrome, which complements the aged black satin body finish and the aged cream 1-ply binding. The arched top contour on the basswood body adds a bit of visual dimension to what would otherwise be a very flat silhouette.
