At first glance, it reads like a solidbody electric. But underneath that satin transparent black finish lives a genuine hollow-body acoustic with fan bracing, nylon strings, and classical guitar DNA — just wrapped in a shape that's clearly made for shredders.
The FRH body is ultra-thin at just 50mm deep, with deep double cutaways that give you full access to all 22 frets. No soundhole on the top means reduced feedback on stage — instead, a side sound port near the upper horn lets you hear your natural acoustic tone as you play. It's a genuinely clever design, and it solves real problems that crossover players run into with traditional nylon-string guitars.

An Electric-Friendly Neck on a Nylon-String Guitar
One of the common friction points for electric players exploring nylon strings is the neck — traditional classical guitars have wide, flat necks that feel completely foreign if you're coming from a Stratocaster. The TOD10N sidesteps this entirely. The C-shaped Nyatoh neck has a 46mm nut width (roughly 1.81") and a 400mm fretboard radius, making it feel familiar to anyone used to a slim electric neck.
The walnut fretboard features Tim's signature "Tree of Death" inlay — a dark, thorned vine design that riffs on Ibanez's classic "Tree of Life" motif. Gold classical tuners and a bone nut and saddle handle the stringing duties, with D'Addario nylon strings installed from the factory. The 25.5" scale length is the same as most electric guitars, so there's no adjustment period there either.
Fishman Electronics for Stage-Ready Sound
The TOD10N is wired for live performance. A Fishman Sonicore under-saddle pickup feeds into the Ibanez AEQ210TF preamp, giving you volume control, 2-band EQ (bass and treble), a phase switch to fight feedback, and a built-in digital tuner that doubles as a mute switch. The output is a standard ¼" jack powered by a 9V battery. It's a practical, reliable setup that faithfully captures the guitar's natural acoustic voice when plugged in.
