A 2x12 Built to Run with the Bassbreaker Series

If you've already got a Bassbreaker head or combo — or you're hunting for a versatile 2x12 extension cab that doesn't weigh a ton — the Fender Bassbreaker BB-212 is worth a close look. It's sized to slip neatly under a Bassbreaker 45 or 18/30 combo, but it's just as happy behind any head that can drive a 16-ohm load.

The BB-212 takes its design cues from the broader Bassbreaker series: gray tweed covering, a black grille, and that slightly retro aesthetic that nods to both Fender's American roots and the British amps that took the Bassman circuit and ran with it in the 1960s. It looks the part on stage without being flashy about it.

Whether you're expanding a Bassbreaker rig or just shopping for a well-built 2x12 with a focused character, this cab delivers a specific sound — and it's one a lot of players are after.

Celestion G12V-70 Speakers — British Tone in a Fender Box

The BB-212 is loaded with two 12" Celestion G12V-70 speakers, each rated at 8 ohms and wired in series for a total cabinet impedance of 16 ohms. The G12V-70 is a modern Celestion voice — tight low end, articulate midrange, and a top end that stays controlled even when you push the amp hard.

The total power handling comes in at 140 watts, so there's plenty of headroom for even high-wattage heads. You'll connect via a standard 1/4" speaker jack — straightforward and road-reliable.

Semi-Closed Back Design

The BB-212 uses a semi-closed back construction, which gives you a sound that sits between a fully open-back cab and a closed-back. You get more low-end body and focus than a fully open design, while retaining some of the airiness and midrange openness that players associate with open-back Fender combos. It's a practical balance for players who want punch on stage without losing dimension.

The cabinet itself is built from birch plywood — a dense, resonant material that contributes to the cab's tight, focused response. It's wrapped in gray tweed covering with a black leather handle, keeping the road-worn aesthetic consistent with the rest of the Bassbreaker line.

Compact and Gig-Friendly

At roughly 22" tall, 26" wide, and 10.6" deep, the BB-212 is dimensionally compact for a 2x12 — and it's designed to stack neatly under the Bassbreaker 45 and 18/30 amplifiers. Players who've moved from a heavy 4x12 to a pair of these or a single BB-212 often note how much easier the load-in and load-out becomes without sacrificing stage volume or low-end presence.

If you're pairing it with a Bassbreaker head, the whole rig stacks cleanly and looks cohesive. If you're running it with a different head, just confirm your amp's minimum impedance — the BB-212 runs at 16 ohms.
