Ibanez reimagined the dreadnought from scratch for the Advanced Acoustic series — Grand Dreadnought body shape, an Advanced Access cutaway, and a handful of thoughtful engineering details that add up to a noticeably different playing experience.
Add a solid Sitka spruce top, a stage-ready electronics package, and a Dark Violin Sunburst high-gloss finish that looks sharp under stage lights, and you've got a guitar that's ready to work — at rehearsal, at a gig, or in front of a mic in a home studio.

This item is a B-Stock guitar sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is new and has never been previously owned. The photos shown are of the exact instrument you will receive. Before shipment, our licensed technician will inspect and professionally set up the guitar to ensure it is playing its best. During our inspection, we noticed Flaw on pickguard. (see pictures) Please note, these may not be the only cosmetic imperfections. As a B-Stock instrument, there may be additional minor blemishes that are small in nature and do not affect playability or performance.
Solid Top, Sapele Back and Sides
The solid Sitka spruce top is the acoustic centerpiece here. Sitka is a trusted workhorse tonewood — it responds dynamically to your picking attack, opens up over time, and delivers that clear, articulate voice that makes dreadnoughts such a satisfying strum. The X-M bracing beneath it optimizes how the top moves and transfers energy, giving you clear lows, crisp highs, and controlled mids with a wide dynamic range.
Sapele back and sides round out the tonewood package with warm mids and a bright, balanced projection. Players often find sapele sits in a familiar tonal territory — somewhere between the warmth of mahogany and the crispness of rosewood — making it a versatile match for everything from strumming to fingerpicking.
The Grand Dreadnought Shape and Advanced Access Cutaway
Ibanez's Grand Dreadnought body is a reworked take on the traditional dreadnought. It's designed to generate more volume and a stronger low end while keeping the body comfortable against you — with rounded body edge binding that softens the contact points during longer sessions. The result is a big acoustic voice in a body that doesn't feel like it's fighting you.
The Advanced Access cutaway gives you a clear path to the upper frets — handy when you want to move beyond the campfire chord shapes. The A.I.R.port, a secondary port on the top side of the body, directs sound toward you as you play, so you get a clearer, more immediate sense of your own tone on stage or in a room.
Stage-Ready Electronics
The Ibanez T-bar undersaddle pickup captures your acoustic tone accurately and feeds it to the Ibanez AEQ-TP2 preamp, which lives in a side-mounted panel with volume, bass, and treble controls. An onboard tuner is built right in — no separate clip-on needed when you're between songs at a gig. Output options include both a standard 1/4" jack and a balanced XLR output, which means you can run straight to a PA, a mixer, or an acoustic amp.
The neck is a one-piece Okoume piece with a Low Oval Grip profile and a satin polyurethane finish, which keeps it fast under your hand. The 25.6" scale length and 1.7" nut width give you comfortable string spacing for both chord work and single-note runs. The Purpleheart fretboard and bridge add a visual pop and contribute to the guitar's tonal character.
