One Board to Rule Your Whole Rig
If you've ever wished you could fit your entire amp collection and pedalboard into a single floor unit — the Boss GT-100 is a serious answer to that wish. Built around Boss's COSM technology, it models vintage and modern amplifiers with a level of detail that goes beyond simple cloning. Whether you're after the clean shimmer of a classic combo, the crunch of a British stack, or tones that don't exist in any catalog, the GT-100 has a place to start.
The dual-LCD display and eight corresponding knobs put every parameter right in front of you — no menu diving required. Every function is instantly accessible, which means you spend more time playing and less time searching. The graphical EZ Tone and Tone Grid system make building patches from scratch approachable, even if you're new to multi-effects units.
This is a great fit for working guitarists who want one reliable unit for rehearsal, live gigs, and direct recording — without hauling multiple amplifiers or a sprawling pedalboard.
COSM Amp Modeling: Vintage to Uncharted Territory
At the core of the GT-100 is Boss's next-generation COSM processor, which recreates the meticulous behavior of vintage amplifiers — how they respond to picking dynamics, how their tone shifts at different gain levels, and how the cabinet interacts with the speaker. The result goes well beyond a static snapshot of an amp's sound.
The amp roster covers a wide range of well-known types — from clean twin-style combos and tweed blues amps to high-gain stacks — and the Amp Customize function lets you modify any of them beyond their original parameters. The Version 2.0 firmware update added two additional amp types, expanded MDP effects, an acoustic guitar simulator, and an improved rotary effect, all available as a free download for GT-100 owners.
The ACCEL Pedal and A/B Channel Divide
The onboard ACCEL pedal goes well beyond what a standard expression pedal does. Rather than controlling a single parameter, it can manipulate multiple parameters simultaneously, including time-variant effects like Feedbacker, S-Bend, and Twist — all in real time with your foot. It opens up expressive possibilities that are difficult to replicate with individual stompboxes.
The A/B Channel Divide is another standout feature: you can assign completely different amp models and effect chains to each of two channels, then switch between them with a footswitch — or set the GT-100 to switch automatically based on your picking dynamics or the frequency range you're playing. Assign a smooth lead tone to your upper register and a heavy rhythm tone to your lower strings, and the unit handles the transitions for you.
USB, MIDI, and Studio Integration
The GT-100 includes a full USB audio interface, letting you record directly into your DAW without a separate interface. The enhanced multi-channel USB operation also supports re-amping workflows. MIDI In and Out jacks allow the GT-100 to control external MIDI-capable amplifiers or rack gear, and the Guitar-to-MIDI function (added in Version 2.0) lets you drive software synths and notation applications using a standard guitar — no special pickup required.
Boss Tone Studio software (free download for Mac and Windows) provides a graphical interface for creating, editing, organizing, and archiving patches from your computer. Through the integrated connection to Boss Tone Central, you can also preview and download free patches created by professional guitarists directly into the unit.
The GT-100 stores 400 total patches — 200 user slots and 200 factory presets — and also features a built-in phrase looper with up to 38 seconds of loop time (19 seconds in stereo). A Manual Mode instantly reconfigures the footswitches to operate like individual stompboxes, so you can make live on-the-fly effect changes without thinking in patches.
