The Telecaster, Refined for the Modern Player
You know that classic Tele sound—the snap, the twang, the clarity that's been on countless records since 1951. The American Ultra Telecaster keeps all of that, but adds the kind of refined playability that makes you wonder why every Tele doesn't feel this good. This Cobra Blue model features an alder body with gloss polyurethane finish, a Modern D-shaped maple neck, and a maple fingerboard with a 10"-14" compound radius. The 25.5" scale length and 1.685" nut width give you familiar Telecaster proportions, but the rolled fingerboard edges and sculpted neck heel make this one of the most comfortable Teles you'll pick up. If you've ever loved a Telecaster but wished it played a little faster and felt a little easier on your hands, this is the guitar.
Ultra Noiseless Pickups: Classic Tone Without the Hum
The American Ultra Telecaster is loaded with a pair of Ultra Noiseless Vintage Tele single-coil pickups that deliver the punch and twang that define the Telecaster, while Fender's Noiseless circuitry eliminates the signal noise and hum inherent in vintage single-coil designs. An S-1 switch embedded in the volume knob places the pickups in series for raging humbucker-esque tones. You get three pickup positions via the blade switch—bridge for that signature bright bite, neck for warmth and roundness, and both pickups together for a balanced middle tone. Press the S-1 switch in any position and you'll get a thicker, fuller sound with more output. The treble bleed circuit maintains your highs at any volume. Whether you're playing clean country licks, crunchy rhythm parts, or overdriven leads, these pickups respond to your touch with clarity and detail.
Built for Speed and Comfort
The Modern D neck profile with Ultra rolled fingerboard edges and 10"-14" compound-radius fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets means effortless soloing and hours of playing comfort. The neck's Ultra Satin finish encourages deft hand maneuvering. That compound radius is key—it's more curved down near the nut where you play chords, then gradually flattens as you move up the neck where you bend strings and play lead lines. The tapered neck heel gives you easy access to the guitar's entire fretboard. The sculpted rear body contours are as beautiful as they are functional. A bone nut and Bi-Flex truss rod round out the neck specs.
Road-Ready Hardware
The 6-saddle American Tele bridge with chromed brass saddles delivers classic Telecaster string-through-body design for excellent sustain and tuning stability. The deluxe cast/sealed locking tuning machines offer increased tuning stability while making string changes fast and easy. Chrome/nickel hardware and a 3-ply aged white pickguard complete the traditional look. Knurled flat-top control knobs and black pearloid dot inlays add subtle visual detail. The guitar ships strung with Fender USA 250L nickel-plated steel strings in .009-.042 gauges. The bolt-on neck joint is a 4-bolt standard design.
