The Strat That Knows Where It Came From—and Where You're Going
You know that feeling when you pick up a Stratocaster and it just feels right? The American Professional II in Anniversary 2-Color Sunburst is that guitar. Fender took everything that's made the Strat an icon for seventy years and updated it with the kind of refinements that working players actually ask for—not the stuff that looks good in a press release. The result is a Strat that honors the past while giving you everything you need for how you play today.
This Anniversary finish is a throwback to Fender's early two-tone sunbursts, and it's only available in limited quantities. Under that classic finish, you'll find a lightweight, contoured alder body that balances beautifully on a strap and resonates with that familiar Fender clarity. The Deep "C" neck with rolled fingerboard edges and "Super-Natural" satin finish makes this one of the most comfortable Strats you'll ever play—fast when you need it, supportive when you're digging into chords.
Who's this guitar for? If you're the kind of player who wants a Strat that can handle anything—clean country leads, crunchy rock rhythm, glassy jazz chords—this is your instrument. It's built in Corona, California, and it's ready to work.
Pickups That Speak in Full Sentences
The V-Mod II Stratocaster single-coil pickups are more articulate than ever while retaining bell-like chime and warmth. Fender's pickup guru Tim Shaw voiced each of the three pickups specifically for its position, so you get balanced output and clarity no matter where the five-way switch is sitting. The bridge pickup has enough snap for cutting leads, the middle pickup delivers that classic quack in positions two and four, and the neck pickup is warm without getting muddy.
Here's a feature you'll actually use: the push-push function on the second tone control activates the neck pickup in positions 1 and 2, giving you two additional pickup combinations that aren't normally available on a Strat. Press the tone knob down, and suddenly you've got the neck and bridge pickups together—thick, complex, and great for lead work that needs a little more body. The treble bleed circuit keeps your high end intact when you roll back the volume, so you can clean up your tone without losing clarity.
Modern Refinements That Actually Matter
The upgraded 2-point tremolo with a cold-rolled steel block increases sustain, clarity and high-end sparkle. The bent steel saddles and pop-in tremolo arm make this bridge smooth and stable—you can add vibrato without worrying about tuning issues. The bone nut and 1.685-inch nut width give you a solid foundation for stable tuning and comfortable chord shapes.
The neck is where Fender really nailed the updates. The rounded neck heel and beveled neck-plate improve access to the upper register, so when you're up at the 17th fret and beyond, you're not fighting the guitar. The 22 narrow tall frets are easy to bend on, and the 9.5-inch fingerboard radius is flat enough for comfortable chording but still curved enough to feel natural. The 25.5-inch scale length is classic Strat—bright, snappy, and responsive.
