Where Tele Meets Strat: The Hotshot Difference

Most Telecasters give you two pickups and two sounds. This one gives you five. The American Professional Classic Hotshot Telecaster takes the classic Tele platform and adds a middle Stratocaster pickup — the configuration Nashville session players have relied on for decades when one guitar needs to cover everything. You get traditional Tele snap and bite in the bridge position, glassy Strat shimmer in the middle, and warm jazz tones at the neck. The in-between positions unlock those familiar Strat quack tones that sit perfectly in a mix. It's a working musician's guitar, built for players who need more sounds without reaching for a second instrument.

Fender built the American Professional Classic series to capture the soul of their 1960s golden era while answering the needs of today's players. Vintage-inspired Coastline '63 Telecaster and '57 Stratocaster pickups deliver depth, punch and sparkle, but they're wound slightly hotter than Pure Vintage models for better response with modern amps and pedals. The alder body provides balanced resonance with clear mids, while the satin-finished maple neck with Modern C profile feels instantly familiar — slim enough for speed, substantial enough for all-night gigs. This guitar looks like it could've hung in a shop window sixty years ago, but it's designed for right now.

Three Pickups, Endless Combinations

This Tele's lively alder body packs two Coastline '63 Telecaster single-coils and a middle-position '57 Stratocaster pickup — the "Nashville" configuration that's favored by studio pros around the world for its boundless flexibility. The bridge pickup delivers classic Tele bite with enhanced output that cuts through without shrillness. The middle Strat pickup brings that glassy, bell-like clarity Stratocasters are famous for. The neck Tele pickup offers warmth and articulation for lead work and jazz voicings.

Paired to a 5-way switch, this comprehensive configuration puts both Tele twang and in-between Strat shimmer at your command. Position 1 is your bridge pickup for classic country and rock tones. Position 2 blends bridge and middle for that chiming, slightly scooped sound. Position 3 isolates the middle pickup for clean rhythm work. Position 4 combines middle and neck for smooth lead tones. Position 5 gives you the neck pickup alone for jazz and warmer applications. What's more, the addition of Fender's Greasebucket circuitry allows you to tweak your tone knob without muddying up your signal. Roll off highs without adding bass boom — your clarity stays intact even with the tone backed off.

Vintage Character, Modern Comfort

The neck's slim Modern C profile, 9.5-inch fingerboard radius, and medium-jumbo frets supply an unabashedly contemporary feel beneath your fingers. The maple fingerboard features a 9.5" radius and 22 medium jumbo frets, making bends smooth and chords easy across the entire neck. The nut width measures 1.685" (42.8 mm) with a synthetic bone nut for clear, consistent string spacing. The 25.5" scale length gives you that familiar Fender tension and snap.

A string-through-body "ashtray" bridge with a trio of brass saddles warms up the Tele's treble response in the 1950s tradition. Fender Staggered ClassicGear tuners provide classic looks and precise tuning stability. The gloss urethane finish on the body is complemented by the satin urethane neck finish for smooth playability. With a 4-bolt neck attachment and standard truss rod adjustment at the headstock, setup and maintenance are straightforward. This is a professional-grade instrument that's ready for the studio, the stage, or wherever your playing takes you.
