The Telecaster, Refined for Today's Player

If you've ever picked up a Telecaster and thought, "this is almost perfect," Fender heard you. The American Professional II Telecaster takes everything that's made the Tele a workhorse for over seventy years and addresses the little things that matter when you're playing night after night. The Deep "C" neck features smooth rolled fingerboard edges, a "Super-Natural" satin finish and a newly sculpted neck heel that makes those upper-fret runs feel effortless instead of like a stretch. This isn't about reinventing the wheel—it's about making sure the wheel rolls exactly how you need it to.

The V-Mod II Telecaster single-coil pickups deliver the twang, snap and snarl that made the Tele famous, but with more clarity than earlier generations. Fender's Tim Shaw voiced each pickup specifically for its position, so the bridge pickup cuts without being shrill, and the neck pickup warms up without getting muddy. The treble bleed circuit keeps your highs intact when you roll back the volume—a small detail that makes a real difference when you're dialing in your tone mid-song.

This Olympic White finish over an alder body is classic Fender through and through, paired with a rosewood fingerboard that adds warmth to the maple neck's snap. Whether you're into clean country twang, blues grit, or anything that needs that signature Tele bite, this guitar delivers the familiarity you expect with the refinements you didn't know you needed.

A Neck That Gets Out of Your Way

The American Professional II "Deep C" neck profile is slim at the nut and fills out gradually as it approaches the neck joint, giving you comfort whether you're wrapping your thumb over for chords or running scales up high. The 25.5-inch scale length and 9.5-inch fingerboard radius strike that sweet spot between vintage feel and modern playability, while the 22 narrow-tall frets make bending easier without feeling jumbo-sized under your fingers.

The real game-changer is that satin neck finish. It's not slippery-fast like some modern necks, but it's not grabby either—it just feels natural. Combined with the rolled fingerboard edges, your hand glides up and down the neck without any sharp transitions or sticky spots. The rounded neck heel and beveled neck-plate improve access to the upper register, so those high bends that used to require some hand yoga now just happen.

The bone nut and 1.685-inch nut width give you a traditional Fender string spacing that feels right if you've played Strats or Teles before. The nut material contributes to sustain and helps the guitar stay in tune, especially on open strings. It's one of those details you might not think about, but you'd notice if it wasn't there.

Bridge with Options

The top-load/string-through bridge with compensated "bullet" saddles gives you the flexibility to set up the guitar your way. String it through the body for maximum sustain and coupling to the wood, or top-load the strings for a slightly looser, more elastic feel that some players prefer for bending. The compensated brass barrel saddles deliver comfort, accurate intonation and vintage-informed tone.

The three-saddle design is pure Telecaster tradition, but Fender's refined the geometry so intonation is spot-on across all six strings. The nickel/chrome hardware keeps things looking clean and classic, and Fender Standard Cast/Sealed Staggered tuning machines help maintain tuning stability with a staggered post height that increases break angle over the nut.
