The Modern Workhorse Tele

Walk into any club on any given night and you'll see a Telecaster on stage. There's a reason this design has barely changed in seventy years — it just works. The American Professional II series takes everything players love about the Tele and refines the details that matter most when you're playing night after night. This Sienna Sunburst model pairs the warm amber-to-brown finish with a roasted pine body, a tonewood choice that nods back to Leo Fender's earliest experiments while delivering focused, resonant tone.

This isn't a vintage reissue and it's not trying to be. The American Pro II is Fender's answer to working musicians who need a guitar that feels instantly familiar but benefits from decades of incremental improvements. The V-Mod II pickups deliver classic Telecaster snap and twang with better note definition than ever before. The sculpted neck heel makes upper-fret access genuinely comfortable. And the push-push tone control activates series mode for a fatter, humbucking-style sound when you need it.

If you've been looking for a Tele that's ready for the studio, the stage, or the living room — this one delivers. Built in the USA and backed by Fender's American Professional II reputation, it's a guitar you can rely on.

V-Mod II Pickups: Vintage Voice, Modern Clarity

Designed by Fender pickup guru Tim Shaw, the V-Mod II Telecaster single-coil pickups deliver the twang, snap, and snarl that made the Tele famous, but with enhanced articulation. Each pickup is voiced specifically for its position — the bridge pickup has that signature bite that cuts through a mix, while the neck pickup offers warmth and body without getting muddy. The treble bleed circuit is a thoughtful touch: when you roll back the volume, you keep your high-end clarity instead of turning into a muffled mess.

The real versatility comes from the push-push tone control. In standard mode, you get the classic Tele pickup combinations: bridge alone, both pickups in parallel, or neck alone. Push down the tone knob, and the middle position switches to series wiring, giving you a thicker, almost humbucker-like tone that's perfect when you need more punch and less single-coil hum. It's not a gimmick — it's a genuinely useful feature that expands your tonal palette without adding switches or clutter.

Roasted Pine Body and Refined Hardware

In the Sienna Sunburst finish, Fender uses roasted pine for the body — a tonewood Leo Fender experimented with in the early days. Roasted pine offers a balanced, resonant tone with excellent note definition, and it's lightweight without sacrificing substance. The gloss urethane finish shows off the wood's natural grain under that warm sunburst gradient.

The new top-load/string-through bridge features compensated brass "bullet" saddles for accurate intonation and vintage-informed tone. You can run your strings through the body for maximum sustain and tension, or top-load them for a slinkier feel and mellower attack — your choice depending on the gig. The nickel/chrome hardware and aged white pickguard keep the aesthetic classic without looking like a museum piece.

Deep C Neck with Super-Natural Finish

The Deep C neck profile sports smooth rolled fingerboard edges, a Super-Natural satin finish, and a newly sculpted neck heel for supremely comfortable feel and easy access to the upper register. The profile is slim at the nut (1.685 inches) and gradually fills out as it approaches the body, giving you a natural grip whether you're barring chords or running single-note lines.

The maple fingerboard has a 9.5-inch radius and 22 narrow-tall frets — a fret size that's become the most requested at the Fender Custom Shop because it makes bending easier and chording more precise. The rolled edges mean there are no sharp fret ends to catch your hand as you move up and down the neck. The bone nut and Fender's standard cast/sealed staggered tuners round out a neck that's built for speed and comfort.
