When you take the neck off your alto sax, the neck receiver — and the octave key mechanism sitting right next to it — are left exposed. The Yamaha YAC1073P is a simple plastic end plug that drops into that receiver to protect the brass edges and key mechanism from accidental bumps or stress while the instrument is in the case or being transported.

Made of black plastic, the plug fits snugly into the neck receiver of Yamaha alto saxophones. It's also open at the end, which lets air flow through the body of the horn so moisture can escape after playing — no trapped humidity building up inside.
