The CFIIIS was the origin of Yamaha's flagship CFX concert grand—the piano you hear in concert halls around the world. With 64-note polyphony, the piano brings every note to life, giving you enough headroom to play dense passages with the sustain pedal without notes cutting off.
The P-143 includes a damper resonance function that reproduces the rich sound you hear when pressing the damper pedal, adding depth and realism when you hold chords or layer harmonies. You also get 10 voices total—including electric piano, organ, strings, vibraphone, and harpsichord—so you can explore different sounds as you progress.
Two 7-Watt Speakers, Positioned Like a Grand Piano
The P-143 is equipped with two 7-watt speakers positioned on the front and back of the instrument. The position and angle of the speakers were adjusted to reproduce the sounds reflected from the soundboard and lid of an acoustic grand piano, and this placement offers a comfortable sonic environment when the piano is placed against a wall. The speakers deliver balanced sound across the frequency range—clear mids and highs, with enough low end to feel the bass notes.

Smart Pianist App and USB Connectivity
By linking the P-143 with Yamaha's Smart Pianist app, you can intuitively perform all operations from the screen of your smart device. The USB to HOST port allows for PC and iOS device connectivity, opening up a world of creative and educational potential by partnering with external applications.
