If you play a 7-string electric guitar and want a heavier gauge that adds some weight to your low end without losing clarity up top, this is Ernie Ball's answer. The Power Slinky 7-String set is gauged .011–.058, making it a solid choice for players who want more tension and chunk — especially for rhythm-heavy playing or drop tunings.

The wound strings are built with nickel-plated steel wire wrapped around a tin-plated, hex-shaped steel core. That hex core gives the wrap wire more to grip, contributing to the full low-end response you'd expect from a heavier set. The plain strings are made of specially tempered tin-plated high-carbon steel, which keeps the treble strings feeling responsive and balanced with the heavier lows. Brass ball ends complete the set. These strings are not coated, so they deliver the direct, open feel of a traditional uncoated string.
