A Warm, Woody Taylor That Plugs Right In
Sometimes you just want a guitar that gets out of your way and lets you play. The Taylor 24ce is that guitar. It wears the Grand Auditorium shape — Taylor's own all-purpose body — with a Venetian cutaway that opens up the upper frets without sacrificing any of the acoustic resonance you'd expect from a full-size instrument. And it does all of this at an accessible price point that doesn't ask you to compromise on the stuff that actually matters.
The solid Tropical Mahogany top is the star of the tonal story here. Mahogany leans warm and focused, emphasizing the midrange in a way that sits beautifully under vocals and works especially well for fingerpicking and roots styles. It's a drier, more direct sound than spruce — less sparkle on the attack, more fundamental richness. Pair that with layered sapele back and sides, and you get a guitar that's tonally balanced, structurally stable, and ready to handle whatever you throw at it.
This is a used unit from our inventory — well-suited for players who want a real Taylor at a real-world price.
Taylor's Signature Playability
The neck is where Taylor earns its reputation. The 24ce features a slim, heelless hard rock maple neck with a Standard Carve profile and a 1-11/16" nut width. That heelless joint means the body doesn't block your hand as you move up the neck — combined with the Venetian cutaway, you can reach every one of the 20 frets cleanly and comfortably. The West African Crelicam Ebony fretboard is smooth and fast, with a density that keeps note definition crisp all the way up the neck.
Scale length comes in at a full 25.5", which gives the strings a confident tension and helps notes ring out with clarity. The 4mm Italian Acrylic dot inlays keep things clean and unfussy, while the matte finish on both the body and neck means it doesn't feel sticky in your hand during longer sessions.
C-Class Bracing and Stage-Ready Electronics
Inside the body, Taylor's C-Class voicing architecture does some smart acoustic work — enhancing volume and sustain while letting the solid mahogany top vibrate more freely. The result is a guitar that projects better than you might expect from a mid-sized body, with harmonics that agree with each other across the fretboard.
For plugged-in playing, the 24ce carries Fishman Sonitone GT2 electronics. The soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls keep the body clean and uncluttered, and the system translates the guitar's natural acoustic voice to an amp or PA without too much coloring. Whether you're running into a practice amp at home or a DI at a gig, the Sonitone GT2 is a practical, no-fuss solution. Chrome die-cast tuners handle tuning stability reliably up top, and the single-ring black rosette and faux-tortoiseshell pickguard round out the understated aesthetics.
