Pads Built for Quiet Without Compromise
Every pad in the VQD106 system uses honeycomb rubber inserts covered by mesh heads to absorb impact and reduce stick noise at the source. Specially placed vents on the underside of each pad allow air to escape when struck, further cutting down on noise that would otherwise radiate outward. The result is a pad that feels responsive and natural under the stick, not spongy or dead.
The PDQ-8S snare pad features an 8-inch playing surface with a 10-inch rim and supports independent head and rim triggering — so rim shots register separately and authentically. The three PDQ-8 tom pads each offer 8-inch playing surfaces, giving you plenty of real estate for fills. The KDQ-8 kick pad uses a dense triple-layer cushion in a floating frame to isolate vibration at the floor, and its included quiet ball beater keeps impact noise to a minimum.
For cymbals, three 12-inch CYQ-12 pads handle crash, ride, and hi-hat duties. In crash and ride positions, each CYQ-12 supports independent bow and edge triggering, natural swinging motion, and choke capability — all with the same honeycomb rubber and mesh construction as the drum pads. The hi-hat pairs with the FD-9 control pedal for responsive, ultra-quiet hi-hat operation, seated on the NEQ-H noise-isolating pedal base.
The TD-07 Module: More Than Just Practice
The included TD-07 sound module gives you high-quality acoustic and electronic drum sounds recorded in professional studios, powered by Roland's V-Drums technology. You can personalize sounds by swapping drums, adjusting tuning, adding damping, and using EQ to dial in your tone — giving you real control over how the kit sounds, not just how quiet it plays.
Built-in Bluetooth lets you stream audio from a smartphone or tablet directly through the module, so you can play along with tracks or follow video lessons without extra cables. USB connectivity handles stereo audio and MIDI recording in your DAW, lets you trigger software instruments, and integrates with Melodics for V-Drums for free interactive lessons. An onboard Coach function and integrated metronome round out the practice toolkit.
