The result is a reed made from Arundo Donax cane sourced from the Var region in southern France — hand-harvested wild cane known for its fiber density and stability. Each reed is shaped on precision-controlled traditional machines and checked with a laser tool to verify the cut profile, which helps keep consistency high from reed to reed. Strength markings and the Selmer Paris logo are laser-engraved on the bark side of the reed, not on the vamp, so the vibrating surface stays undisturbed. Packaging is plastic-free: the box is cardboard, flow wrapping is kraft paper, and the reed holder (included in the 10-pack) is made from compostable plant-based material.
